Bush to make statement with his cabinet in Rose Garden at 11:35 AM...
Bradley did a beautiful job interviewing those INNOCENT lacross team members as well has presenting to a national audience the evidence of their innocence. May he R.I.P.
Oh geeez!! My eyes!!
Funny you should mention dis-satisfaction with the "booming" economy. I know quite a few people who have yet to see any sort of recovery from this "booming" economy.
Howlin, you and onyx have known me for a while. And you know I'm not a troll.
I'm not abandoning the President, certainly not in terms of our troops. But ~politically~ it is increasingly hard to stand with him.
We lost a bitterly contested race here in Virginia. And perhaps I'm just too tired and too close to it still to view things objectively.
It's a mixed bag, because I've also been one of the ones saying that Allen should go ahead and concede.
But in the past 24 hours it feels as though the President has kicked us in the gut.
Maybe he has a plan. Maybe he knows what he's doing.
I just think his timing sux.
What is that thing standing next to Pressident Bush?
Corin, you need to get some rest before we talk.
Regards, Ivan
LOL.
Perhaps you're right. I've been living on 3-4 hours sleep a night since early September.
That's the plan. Just like California, and next Florida, etc. Within a generation there will never be another Republican administration.
Whatever party we come from, we all have a responsibility to ensure that these troops have the resources and support they need to prevail. I'm open to any idea or suggestion that will help us achieve our goals of defeating the terrorists and ensuring that Iraq's democratic government succeeds.
The President puts the ball squarely in the Dem's court.
If they're so smart, let's see their improvements on Repub policies - put up or shut up. The American people will certainly be listening.
Thanks for the sanity Jim. We can't do what you wisely suggest if FR becomes a DU exchange site.
"Some are saying we have two years to regroup and recover our direction, but I don't think that's right. If we don't want to lose it all in '08, we'd best get our house together immediately.
We need to continue supporting the president and our troops, but we also need to focus on direction and candidates for the next election. And, of course, we're gonna be awfully busy at the same time fighting off Pelosi, Reid & Co in the Congress. Hope the shake out period doesn't last too long.
Arguing about what could've been, or should've been too long is counter productive. Best spend some time on getting together on what should be and can be done next to succeed.
I also don't see any value in spending the next two years absorbed in Bush/GOP bashing. Best get our wits together and concentrate on the battles to come. I for one do not relish the idea of living under the Democrat thumb for the next 40 years."
Thanks Jim/ I don't have to worry about the next 40 years, but I worry about my sons, DIL and grand children. If we don't beat them in 2008, the DemonicRat thumb will be least of their worries.
So we are just one BIG happy family now? The Demipublicans and the Republicrats are going to make nice for the next two years? Just like Russia, China and North Korea?
See my post # 653.
My opinion -- it is up to the moderators to attempt to keep FR on track. If the moderators are not sucessful, then my interest in FR will diminish.
It isn't an easy task for the moderators, to allow free expression, but at the same time staying our conservative course.
Corin, you worked so hard for George Allen's reelection and I know you're deeply distraught, sad and angry. Please take some time to heal and do not worry about me ever thinking negatively of you. You're one of the best.
So you DO get your "news from DU. As I suspected.
PS if Bush's amnesty passes the GOP will never again win an election.
What the hell are you talking about? Is that the best you can do?. Idiot.
"Funny you should mention dis-satisfaction with the "booming" economy. I know quite a few people who have yet to see any sort of recovery from this "booming" economy."
That's just what I meant. For many people, things are not good economically. For someone affected by globalism, the economy is very worrisome. The only people whose jobs are really safe today are probably in government or health care.
zzzactly!
