Bush to make statement with his cabinet in Rose Garden at 11:35 AM...
Exactly my point, if the GOP can get blown away in Texas we are in serious trouble. Happily Harris county (Houston) is still GOP and out votes Dallas but Harris is slipping too. The "Down draft" (local talk radio phase) from national GOP was huge and wiped out good Republican all accross the nation not just Texas.
Oh, I get it. Well, I'm delighted to see your REASONED post; you should post more often; perhaps it will give the others who are out there lurking who, too, are TPTP, the courage to jump in and jerk a knot into some of us!
Roger that!
YW... maybe it's coming at 12:35? The President isn't often late, IIRC.
Oops .. my mistake .. just another lesson I need to jot down in my study note book for my daily lessons
Bush COULD be like Carter .. did I get that right?
I've been given this info from a helpful Freeper, about President Bush's message at the press conference today:
GWB set forth his legislative priorities for the 109th Congress
- Spending / appropriations bills (about 12 are stuck in the House)
- NSA terrorist surveillance act (passed the House, not taken up by Senate)
- Bipartisan energy act
- India civilian nuclear power agreement
- International trade - VietNam as member of WTO
.
Also, made comments relating to Iraq and WOT.
- Success in installing democracy in Iraq iss a necesary part of WOT
- Rumsfeld staying on until Gates is confirmed
Ditto! And just in time for the best sports. LOL!
LOL .. I gave up wondering where mine has gone
WTHeck? They just showed a clip on FNC showing the President speaking with his cabinet behind him... from earlier this morning, and Bret Baier just said he is currently at lunch with Pelosi?
I have a ton of FR mail saying that very same thing: TPTP.
Polly, there WAS something said after a Cabinet Meeting, and it was said from the Rose Garden. It happened while I was away for a few seconds. Several of us have been begging and pleading for those who saw it to tell us what it was. Nobody answers. They just fight.
Maybe he'll announce a new jobs project -- the construction of fifteen new ten-lane freeways from Mexico into the USA.
The pundits all vie for "who" gets best access to the President; including who is tapped to "counsel". Some pundits took it personally that they weren't personally 'tapped'. It happens. It's their financial livelihood.
Ney and Cunningham and DeLay and Foley and the rest did a good job of helping the mediots.
They are crawling out of the woodwork this week and infiltrating every thread. It's gang mentality.
Great post. Reagan, viewed day to day, would not stand the scrutiny of those who claim now to carry his banner. And they also fail the real litmus test of their Reagan soul when they use his name and legacy to bash the President today.
LOL -- heck, Mo, we wouldn't be able to find ours anyway --- wouldn't know where to start looking.
Thank you very much.
In politics, perception is reality. And the troops are perceiving that America just turned its back on them, and that they're going to be scapegoated for losing and/or derided as the dregs of society, just like their Vietnam-era predecessors.
One of my Tinseltown contacts has told me that some folks are thinking of updating The Deer Hunter to the Iraq War.
Bush was accused of skipping out on the last two years of his National Guard committment.
Whether true or not, given that his first steps in defeat were to throw in the towel to Pelosi and gleefully going after amnesty in spite of the wishes of 70% of Americans, you wonder if he's skipping out of the last two years of his committment to be a Republican President.
Watch the cushy Beltway job (Karl-the-Day-Labor-Contractor formerly known as the Architech) Rove gets.
