In talking to a lot of conseratives, they were furious with the video of Rush imiatating MJF. It was the icing on the DEMS cake, if you ask me and I think Rush jumped the shark on that one.
This new congress will provide new opportunities. I plan on hiring illegal immigrants to protect endangered species from various diseases by conducting research on the stem cells from unborn babies. I will locate the facility in New Orleans.
Maybe the Americans need a reminder as to why the Rats were the Minority party for all these years.

I can't wait till Stevens retires and Bush is forced to put up a gutless Kennedy/O'Conner-esque moderate because he knows a Democrat Senate will never see a Scalia or Thomas type nominee on the floor for a vote. I wonder how smug and arrogant the cut and run conservative voters will be when that happens and it sinks in that it's ALL THEIR FAULT!!! Was passing on the lesser of two evils worth kissing goodbye the next Supreme Court nomination? Because that's what happened last night. Stevens is 86 and in failing health and will not make it to '08. Ginsburg isn't much better at 74 with a history of cancer. Face it, the conservatives who lost sight of the REAL enemy blew it and blew the chance to make the court really conservative, maybe for a decade or more. That's the reality that some poeple need to swallow. They made this s**t sandwich, when Stevens retires they'll have to eat it!
I may agree with #1 if you believe the Democrats were only able to pull it together in the last few weeks by rallying around some major points, like Rush Limbaugh's perceived attack on Michael J. Fox and stem cell, and the GOP's withdrawal of support for key seats, and inability to support even the worst of their own.
The "attack" on MJ Fox drew national attention to a subject that caused people to once again misremember how mean spirited Republicans are. As I pointed out at the time, Republicans would suffer the consequence and we did.
I completely agree with #2. There is no "new media". That's just something catchy to sell blog ads and go to fancy parties hosted by CNN.

in a culture in decline, image always trumps word.
so since our case depends upon presenting evidence and arguments and not just emotion, we have our work cut out for us.
but...we also have to realize that we need to nominate an attractive, non-threatening candidate in 08. the D's of course will do the same if they are smart (they might not be).
our nominee will have to hold the base, while going after non-partisan voters. no easy task.
but mccain and giuliani are not up to that task.
today, seems that Romney is our best bet.
a ton of freepers hate him for various reasons, but, as of where we are today, that is the only thing I can see on the horizon.

I'm pretty confused as to what all this REALLY means- it'll take awhile to grasp the ramifications.
One thing..I hope...the president will learn how to use his VETO power with some of the legislation they may attempt...
What worries me more than anything is if we lose the Senate- I'm fearful of who the libs will try to appoint to SCOTUS..
I heard every word Rush said about Fox and saw the video. He didn't say anything out of line. Fox is a liar and a disgusting person for manipulating his disability to sell a cloning amendment as a stem cell amendment. If you knew the whole story you wouldn't say what you did.
