"Republicans lost because the country rejected conservatism."

I respectfully dissagree, just the opposite, I agree with Rush, Republicans lost because of the lack of party unity and the fear of being labled "conservative"

Does anyone really believe that the newly-elected democrats will behave in a conservative manner?

Rhetorical question?

they will never govern on the way they ran!!

And since they are dems who will challenge them when they vote the opposite of how they ran??

Bad thing happens. I get laid off. I can curl up in a ball on my bed, and do nothing or I can go pound the pavement to find a better job.

A disaster can cripple you or motivate you. You decide which.

That is a good way to advertise the message. Wish you would submit that to the RNC.

By far the most effective campaign ad was the one from Tennessee against Ford. Effective because it was humorous.

The only reason MSNBC is still on the air is to give dems free campaign help.

In any sane environment, neither Matthews or Olberwomann would be on the air.

First off, we haven't been fighting a war. Watch "The World At War" that chronicles a real war. We have a democracy experiment with folks who hate us just a bit more than each other. Kick ass with complete surrender of your adversary, and then you set the rules of governing and provide security and monetary help. We have the model. It was WW II and Germany and Japan are our case studies. Nation building comes after nation destroying. Someone forgot to tell the President.

I agree. THEY now have TONS to prove and we all know they will fall very very short, which helps us take it back in 2008. People without a plan will never do a better job. We will experience "hell in a handbasket" for the next 2 years, but we can take it and it will make us stronger in 2008. It may be a blessing in disguise and we did get rid of some RINO's, which is always good.

We have lost a battle. We have not lost the war.

Conservatives need to see this as an opportunity, NOT a disaster.

To start with NEW Congress, NEW Leadership. Time for a hard charging no nonsense leadership in the US Senate and US House.

Time for the Republican Insurgency to teach the Democrats what a REAL quagmire looks like.

They wanted it. They lied to the American people about their real agenda to get it. Let them enjoy their Phyrric victory in 2006. They won most races by a few thousands votes. Let them go home in 2008 and try to defend their record of voting for Ms Nancy and Hillary Clinton's Big Socialist Agenda after running as Republican Lite in 2006.

Our job going forward is prevent them from doing too much damage between now and then
________
AMEN!

Posted on another thread earlier but worth repeating.

I for one am getting sick and tired of all the backbiting and fingerpointing I've been seeing on FR since yesterday. I'm going to start the renewal process and the rebuilding of the conservative movement by remembering the following.

It is time for us to realize that we're too great a nation to limit ourselves to small
dreams. We're not, as some would have us believe, doomed to an inevitable decline.
I do not believe in a fate that will fall on us no matter what we do. I do believe in a
fate that will fall on us if we do nothing. So, with all the creative energy at our
command, let us begin an era of national renewal. Let us renew our determination,
our courage, and our strength. And let us renew our faith and our hope. We have
every right to dream heroic dreams. Those who say that we're in a time when there
are no heroes, they just don't know where to look.

I wonder if a lot of our military people will fail to re-enlist because they fear what the Dems will do now that they're in power.

That's a frightening thought...
