Here's your main problem: WE are the Republican Party; we're made up of lots of people: (realistic) conservatives and moderates and some even liberal Republicans.

No, we wouldn't, because the allies who are with us today would not have stayed with us if we'd 'nuked' anybody, and the Republicans would be even more 'persona non grata' than they were this election.

How exactly do you define win? The US military has been involved in the reconstruction of several dozen countries over the past century. That takes time. The average is probably close to 5 years to rebuild a societies infrastructure.

WWII didn't end with VE or VJ day. We spend years afterwords rebuilding Germany and Japan.

Democrats had control for 50 years. It takes a while to turn back the clock. I think Republicans due better when they stick to their guns (e.g. conservative principles). But Bush has accomplished a lot in the past 6 years, we will retake the house in the next election and continue to move forward.

I just hope we don't cut and run in Iraq. We wouldn't just be abandoning a country like in Vietnam, we really would be creating a safe haven for terrorism of all forms.

1) I can sum up the Iraq war - Muqtada al-Sadr! The fact that he and his Mahdi Army are roaming the streets speaks to the policy failure in Iraq. Our military has been brilliant and displaced the Saddam regime, but we have not won the war.

2) Tax cuts were limited by the uncontrolled spending. If government growth and spending would have been properly managed even larger tax cuts would have been possible. I for one and not going to be thankful that the government is only taking 50% of my income.

3) Illegal immigration alone is enough reason to have fired anyone/everyone! The western states are bankrupt, health care has collapsed, law enforcement is under siege, and security is a nightmare!

4) Not driven by polls? Explain the insane support of Arlen Spectre and a host of conservatives that the GOP leadership has crapped on.
