Maybe you could see more of the kids than I did but I only saw one of his little girls crying.

His son as well as some other family members were crying. I understand defeat is not something that's pleasant, but it's not nearly as traumatizing as they were acting.

You're correct about radio talk and Rush, their era has reached a nadir and Limbaugh has caused more harm to the party than his gigantic ego will ever accept. Poor fellow.
There goes the bathwater - and the baby.

I think you should give up - no, I think you HAVE given up.

Good night and GOOD LUCK on your chosen direction.

replace the U.S. Code and state statutes with an American theocracy.

You have absolutely no comprehension of what the religious right thinks and believes. You would fit right in on DU.

Well, that and the fact that he knew he was running on unpopular topics like the growing threat to our society by Islamo-fascists (which could very well be taken for democrats)- people just don't want to face the facts- Rick had a sound and serious message, and the people overwhelmingly ignored it- sad really.

Yeah, very similar in intensity and coerced conformity.

I merely see what exists without assuming a head-in-the-sand posture and deny objective facts. Don't agree? OK.

Oh give the kids a break! Their Daddy probably just lost a very hotly contested race, and I'm sure they've heard a lot of crap tossed around about him. I'm glad they're not just stoic little political robots.

We waited for years for our cable company to add Fox to the lineup. After watching it for a week or so, we just didn't bother anymore. It is the same thing ALL day long!! With the exception of Brit's show at 6pm Eastern, there is nothing else worth watching.

Their election coverage is no different from the other channels; they still prognosticate based on exit polls which are notoriously inaacurate, and they call races based on flimsy vote totals.

Just ask all the posters who attacked me for being a troll when I said Santorum would lose. They know everything!

I suspect they were attacking you for gloating and being a jerk.

I seem to recall they were not always this bad...in 96-00 it was a pretty good network. It started going downhill in terms of all the stupid stuff after 9-11. It became more about finding one sensational story after another. The ratings confirmed that this is what the public wants.

I am not blaming conservatives. I am saying the base was demoralized. I was. Delay, the growing of the Ed Department, Harriet Meiers, two justices who may not be all that conservative, an unanswered immigration situation, and the Foley's of the world, these are some of the things that demoralized me. We had a shot at being really conservative: having a moral center. President Bush could have chosen notably conservative Justices, and people like Ann Coulter rightly chided him for not doing so. And now our education mandates are going to kill us financially-here in New York State our taxes are insane to support an out of control education department which is doing a piss poor job and is white collar welfare. No Child Left behind just grows that monolithic structure. Bush inherited a terrible situaton. But he made a tacitcal error. He should have focused on a narrow, nationalistic approach to terrorism. Not an endless war on terror, and he should have secured the borders. A plane can still fly into a NY highrise? That should not be the case. I see so many areas in the tri state-oil holding centers, resevoirs, so many opportunities for terrorism unprotected. Again, the President inherited a terrible situation, but I think he was spread to thin. I think he is not as conservative as the base that brung him, and I think we became demoralized. V's wife.

Your response illustrates the sort of mindless orientation that cost us both houses of congress. It goes like this: ''You don't agree with me? You must be either in favor of the terrorists, a sinister socialist-or worse,- we have no place for in our 'big tent'that we touted in the 2000 and 2004 election campaigns, and on, and on, etc.'' The Republican party of my young adulthood and my life until, GWB and the extreme religious right began dictating policy, no longer exists. It, through Karl Rove and GWB, has commanded heel-clicking and non-questioning obedience to doctrine without tolerence for a hint of dissent.

Rather than governing from the large center they believed they could do so from the far right and dismiss the many of us fiscal conservatives with the sort of pejorative remark like: ''Where are they going to go, over to the Democratic Party?'' Well, they got their answer, and it resounds across Congress. GWB, Rove and the VP who can't shoot straight deserve what they've created in addition to insisting on idiotic military policies that are far worse than the idiocy that I and my colleagues were forced to endure in SEA in the 1960s all the while insisting that the nation plow straight ahead without thought of modification of strategy.

This life-long loyal Republican, for one, admits to crossing over to vote for every Democratic except two close friends and also admits to a sense of: ''...there, you arrogant bastards, survey the results of your mismanagement and tolerance for too much false comfort and malfeasence in office---and deal with it.''
