Not weird at all. "CNN" was the operative word.

That was Glacier county dumping in.

What's left is mostly GOP.

I think it all comes down to Yellowstone. If it's a wash, or a Burns lead, then he wins.

I thought so but Jezebelle is telling us otherwise.

She also told us Steele was winning in MD... about 12 times.

And you and your "group" see everything in a bad light if you don't personally agree with it 100 percent. You and your inflexibility had a great part in what happened today.

Again, you're shooting the messenger. How did I have anything to do with what happened today? Georgia went almost straight GOP and did not lose any seats to the democrats.

You're the one that lives in the state where Shuler took office.

As I pointed out months ago, the GOP policies were turning off many traditional Republican voters and that is exactly what happened. Georgia's GOP politicians actually did something about illegal immigration and they were all rewarded. Maybe politicians in other states should consider it.

From the Corner:
http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=YzM2YzkzYzJmODA2ZDM4MTM2OTJlNWE1ZTkxOGYyMzk=

I was in transit but....around 3:41 my time, I got this from a newsroom source: "A representative of Senator Conrad Burns just told supporters that they don't expect to have the final results in the Montana Senate race until sometime between 5-7am Mountain time/7-9am Eastern time. There are apparently about 70,000 ballots which have to be re-counted by hand."

So good night for now.

And now I have the go to work tomorrow on about 2 1/2 hours sleep. And not only that, but we'll lose the war against Islamofascism and we're all going to convert or die. Other than that, it's been an OK night.

So for you the base doesn't think, just votes with the party regardless?

If the GOP had handled the spending and illegal immigration issue better, the traditional republican voters would have been more understanding on Iraq.

Did you see what Bush is going to do next? Negotiate with the RATs on illegal immigration. Thanks, third-party voters for costing us Montana and Missouri. Thanks, Repubs who sat this one out to "send a message." Message received, and it means amnesty.

So you don't consider the President the leadership?

Knox Co. still not in for TN.

According to the Memphis paper it is:

Ford beat the former Chattanooga mayor soundly in Shelby County, 63 to 36 percent. In Davidson, with 83 percent of precincts reporting, Ford had 61 percent to 38 percent for Corker.

In Hamilton County, where Corker's hometown of Chattanooga is located, Corker beat Ford 53 to 46 percent. Corker also won Knox County, 56 to 43 percent.

Fine. Bring them home. Let Iraq dissolve into mass terrorism. When they start hitting us again, they'll hit the big cities where all the rats live. Not one damn dime will I send to help them out.

Good riddance.

Bring it.

Webb leads by about 8,000 votes. I think Allen claims that there are still absentee ballots that remain to be counted. And the race is so close that there will probably be a recount.

By "base", I'm not just referring to broken glass party loyalists but to those that would be open to voting Republican.

That's not a definition of 'base' I'm not familiar with. If so we agree that all possible voters need to be encouraged and supported. It is unlikely however that they will agree with a given set of ideals. That's fine with me, hence the 'big tent'. To have a big tent however you have to be somewhat accommodating and that can be a tough sell around here.

She's just plain wrong. The Tennessee race is over and Corker won.

Looking at what's left out there in Montana:

Cascade should give Tester another 500 votes net.

Fergus should give Burns about 1000 net.

Gallatian should give Burns, maybe, 500 net. Or be a wash.

Lincoln should be worth another 1000 net for Burns.

Megher a couple of hundred.

So, yeah, he needs a good result out of Yellowstone to win, at this point.

What???? Did they get a court order to keep the polls open? If so, on what grounds?

"How about our thousands of air plans and tens of thousands of missiles. No need for ground invasion, just destroy the bastards from the air."

Statement from Nancy Pelosi: We are tired of the President trying to "Wag the Dog" and direct attention away from his disastrous war in Iraq by Bombing helpless nations. The President needs to step up and bring our boys home before more unnecessary deaths occur. We are wasting valuable tax dollars on a failed war when we could be fighting global warming, giving tax cuts to middle class Americans and feeding poor children who have no school lunches. We call on the President to stop his warmongering ways, and do what is right.

CNN: Today we have a poll on the President's Wag the Dog plan in Syria and the numbers tell us the 76% of Americans think we should bring the troops home, the other 278% think Bush should be impeached for War Crimes.

CNN: Now we take you live to Syria where apparently American planes have bombed a hospital (video cuts to what looks like once was a maternity ward and the nursery is filled with tiny burnt bodies.) The Leaders of Syria are calling for an Immediate end to this War of Aggression and are portioning the UN that President Bush to be arrested on War crimes.

end transmission-------

Any Questions

The only area where Bush has increased spending more than marginally is the Medicare Drug Benefit which, let's be frank, was a dumb idea - but, putting the Democrats in power would simply have meant a more expensive one.

Fiscal conservatives would actually like to see some real spending cuts instead of spending increases. By cuts, I mean real dollars and not just a reduction in the rate of growth.

How about $20 billion for AIDS in Africa? How about No Child Left Behind? All originated by the GOP.

There not evil for increasing spending but the reality is that it will turn off a certain segment of the traditional republican voters and in combination with other shortcoming could really result in a significant number of lost voters.

Tonight is a good example of that.

Like somebody said on another thread, this time there just might not be a "reconciliation."

There won't be as long as the Democrats are in charge in Congress with a sitting president in the White House who happens to be a Republican.
