Clinton and HillaryCare gave us the first Republican house in 40 years. Clinton was also a gift. Even with a slightly Democrat House, we are still much stronger than in 1992 when Clinton entered office. You're going to have heck of a wake up call
If you think the Dems won't take full advantage .. then you are a fool

We have a lot of people in the Republican Party who have done the work FOR the DNC; some of them right here on this site.
PLenty here...if it's not the border it's the patriot act...or spending.
They bash away not realizing that some RINOS and Dems prevented real change...and yet, so many wonderful progressive projects got done: The Suprene Court, tax cuts, the WOT, etc.

Steele closing gap 50-48 (cardin leading) with 28% report.
This race was called along time ago. I think we need to concentrate on Virginia, Montana, and Missouri

Today's results don't help Giuliani at all. In fact, today is devastating to any chances he had in a 2008 presidential election.
Most of the Republicans who have lost today are the "moderate" types that Giuliani's supporters claim are vital for the party's success.

Anyone notice CNN calling Maryland for Cardin? From their results so far I don't see it.

oh come on, a total blood bath would be if we lost 8-10 Senate seats and 40+ house seats. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

To his benefit Shays moderated somewhat in the last six months, I saw him this summer on LKLive saying he couldn't be a real conservative in his district and then later saw an interview that said he went home after that interview and got a tongue lashing from his constituents.
To: NinoFan
"It is the moderates who are responsible for tonight's loss."
No, it is the loss of support by Independents, who are not Republicans, who are responsible for tonight's loss.
Which is to say that it is those who are responsible for the loss of the Independents who are responsible for tonight's loss.

We need some of our votes (and ability to educate our coworkers and friends) to move into the Dem strong holds (I refuse to call them blue and us Red. To me Red is commie, and that is the Democratic party.)
