Please Mods can we have one central Live thread ...its tough jumping from thread to thread to get results.
Quite well. About a 10-point lead, I think.
Yes, the perfectly groomed, power hungry lackey to do Rendell's bidding. Creepy, scary, useless. And if just one tiny bit of the Philly fraud stories are true, the Dems are taking a strange, dark turn, or maybe just stranger and darker. But it worked. Casey rode on Daddy's coattails (may Casey Sr rest in peace, he was a much classier guy) and sh-meared Santorum in one of the dirtiest (one way) campaigns I've seen. And now we're stuck with him.
And, in addition, Casey pretended to be all high and mighty because he was in Scranton and Santorum's family in VA (for his kids to be nearer to Dad's work), and the word I've heard form GOP'ers from Pittsburgh area is that one of the reasons Santorum left is because the Union guys made such overt threats to him and his family, the same union guys who loved Casey.
What a travesty for my former home of PA to elect that vacuum over a good conservative like Santorum.
I can scarcely believe it. I knew that the Dems would go after him hard, if just for all his pro-life work, but I never imagined a classless no-talent lackey like Casey would be the one to defeat him. No orations, just commercials smearing Rick and commercial after commercial showing him with union guys. And they attacked Weldon with the same veracity. I wasn't sure that Irey could pull it off in that huge Dem area, but who imagined the attacks on Weldon? It's like the Dems have sat around for the last couple years not planning strategy, not planning ideas or ways to win the public, but have planned ways to smear the opposition. A dirty, policy-free campaign. And you know, since Rendell is such a big fan of NY and wants PA to go the directions of NY vis a vis education (just look at his dumbing down in 4 years) and slot machines, ugh, you know he had to have help of Senators of NY (I can't type their names, ugh). Next for us - more taxes (where is that promised property tax relief?) and gun control.
to a corrupt and decadent turkey like Murtha.
He's like our own Ted Kennedy. Bloated, corrupt. And echoing Kerry's attack on our soldiers has apparently helped him win again.
Both those races are sickening as well.. PA weak on denfense.

It's just what Spain did and the jihadists are having the last laugh.
I know, it's just stunning, isn't it? I didn't expect it would be THIS bad, and the results from the west aren't even in yet. I've been thinking of that Spanish election as well. The American people are playing into the jihadists' hands, just as you said...
I'm watching Joe Lieberman celebrating right now on C-SPAN and can't believe I'm happy and relieved that "my 'RAT candidate" won. Thank God far-left moonbat Red Ned Lamont didn't win that seat...
DeWine had a 100% PRO-LIFE rating. Do you lie about everything??

95% in and now Barone addressing the open ones. Kinda icky.
That was 8 years earlier. It's only been 5 years since 9/11 -- so you've got 3 years to go.
yep
I agree up to a point. I've always thought that the President does better when he defends his views, but where were the rest of the Republican pols? Half the time they were telling their voters how they differed with the President. A party that is divided against itself is a weak party, and that attitude is demoralizing. Too many times polititians from both sides read the pols and decide what side they are on only at that point. President Bush has been one who has avoided that attitude, and for me that makes him just about the most principled men in Washington.
absentees aren't counted in Va yet,,anyoneknow how many?
Night Ohio. HE is in control.
Sleep well.
I am at a loss to all of this. My nephew just went back to Iraq for the 2nd time. I guess I will go to bed but I am afraid of what I will wake up to?
Well Ed, that's how I saw California going in the early 90s. I tried to speak out about it, but folks dismissed it and played it off as soft-(or full blown) racism. No, we actually do have a right to a culture even if our own friends can't quite grasp that.
Thanks. I know where you are coming from.
Sweet dreams ohioWFan and Amen to your post.
I'm not watching any of it. No more cable news or newspapers for me. Let them play their games - I won't be watching or reading any newspapers. The media has failed to inform Americans fairly since the war began and I hope they crash and burn. I've had enough.
How have I been unappeasable? Looks to me like all of my Georgia candidates have won.
We told you that the GOP reactions to the illegal immigrant marches this spring would depress the base and it did. Don't get mad at those that pointed it out.
Yippee!!
Amen, friend.
