The "Reagan Democrats" are the ones who determine which party wins elections in this country. The bottom line is that Bush and the GOP the last four-years have not done anything to address three HUGE concerns of this group.

a)Many good paying manufacturing jobs are now gone to China.

b)Many great families in this country are worn out after 3.5 years of having their sons and daughters in Iraq.

c)Many are concerned about mexican immigration.

Bush and the GOP have just not addressed any of these peoples concerns in a meaningful way. Doesn't mean that the Dem "solutions" or ideas are any better....just means our team hasn't delivered...hence tonight.

Olberman and Matthews are talking about the "canary in the coalmine" victory of the Dem challenger over Nancy Johnson in CT.

Bill Krystal looks like Bob Woodward. He might as well be.

Actually, FNC addressed the immigration issue in their exit polling and said it didn't even show up as a concern.

I never said that they would, but when the RINOs in the party were unwilling to provide it either that obviously caused some part of our base to become disinterested in the Party.

And again, I did my part 100%. I called people and I voted Republican.

I voted, but there are plenty of people out there who are righteously PO'd and they have good cause to be.

People have every right not to vote, but when they make that choice, it's far from honorable and it's certainly not righteous. There was a crystal clear choice on too many issues, from taxes, to judicial nominees, to our men and women in harms way, to sit out.

"ATTENTION: All Conservative bashers. Conservatives showed up. It's the precious unreliable moderates that seem to have sat this one out. So if you want to blast anyone, thank the ungrateful pack of Republican Moderates the GOP catered to the past two years. Don't believe me? Check out what races are going down. It ain't the conservative strongholds by and large, it's the wimpish Lib Mod districts."

BINGO. Beautiful post!

Wow, Double Bingo from me.

Wonder how they're gonna like that new immigration policy the Democrats are proposing?

The Dems are going to shove their immigration policy down our throats and it will make McCain's plan looks like he's a Right winger

Fox quoting "GOP Strategists" as -20 or worse in the house.

Correction. Fox quoting 'purported' CT GOP strategists. Trust me, there ain't no real GOP strategists here!

If you are a conservative, you know that taking out Saddam was the right thing. Tough and unpopular, but the right thing.

It's not taking out Saddam which was the problem, it was hanging around in Iraq trying to build "Islamic Democracy" that has wrecked Bush's presidency. Destroying an enemy regime was a fine idea, attempting to build some fantasy "Islamic democracy" for hordes that have no understanding or desire for it was a horrible mistake. Some of us have said this all along.

There will be NO sustainable "Islamic Democracy" in Iraq unless we plan to stay in that hellhole imposing our will on those people. The majority of Iraqi's want only for their own particular cleric to be in charge so they can oppress the rest. Yes, there are some good Iraqi's whom share the noble dream, but not the majority.

Please, no more attempts to build "Islamic democracies" ever again. This has destroyed Bush's presidency and just cost us the House and perhaps the Senate.
