I am dumb, I guess- but how do they call a race when there are only 6 or so percent of precincts reporting?

Funny how a state that votes overwhelming Republican will keep sending Rats to Congress.

Then again TX-17 is the exact same freaking way.

I will make an early prediction of Talent to win and yes, you can hold me to it.

I made this post at 6:54. I still think it's right. The voter turnout was great which indicates a Talent win.

To lose Rick Santorum is a travesty!

It's still early in the count - remember Santorum already lost to Harris Woofford years ago (according to the exit polls). Very heavy late turnout in my rural PA precinct. From when I was there at 6:30, it looked like they may have as many voters today as in the 2006 presidential election, and registration is 2/3 republican.

Aint dumb friend...I was stunned earlier on to hear a race even being called at 20:30!! As stated earlier in the thread, it seems a lot of exit polling if being pushed on us by the lame stream (and tonight, I include fox in that catergory). I don't think we will have a picture emerging until midngight-ish...I know in PA-4, turn-out was heavier than I had expected..I should re-state that, heavier at the time that I went than I expected.

Ozark, I'm following county returns and Talent is outperforming his 2002 election. Talent will win by 2-3%. I'm predicting we also hold Virginia by 1%. Senate stays Republican.

Terry Roland, a candidate for State Senate Dist. 29, campaigns with wife Christi near Baker Community Center in Millington.

Ford leading Roland in early voting

November 7, 2006

Ophelia Ford has 70 percent of the vote in early returns in her Dist. 29 state Senate race against Terry Roland.

Last fall, Ford beat Roland in a special election by a razor-thin margin of just 13 votes.

Roland contested the votes, citing voter irregularities.

A further investigation revealed evidence of voter fraud when it showed election workers faked votes trying to throw the race to Ford.

The plot ended with three poll workers being indicted for the illegal voting that officials said Ford had nothing to do with.

However, the Senate voted to remove her from office last spring after they voided the election.

In an August primary race, both Ford and Roland won and faced off once again in this general election.

Both have since worked the campaign trail. Ford out fund-raising and at several events and Roland visiting churches and banquets throughout the county.

Ford and Roland are vying to occupy the four-year term seat that once belonged to Ford’s brother, John Ford who resigned from the Senate in May 2005 after his indictment in the Tennessee Waltz bribery sting.

Ford, a principal in the family's funeral home, was at her campaign headquarters on South Third Tuesday night watching the results.

Roland, who owns a Milling ton service station, was also at his campaign headquarters in Millington, keeping a close eye on the election.

Earlier, both said they were confident in their chances for victory.

Ok, well looks like Santorum is conceding.

I don't get why... he was down 85/15 with 1% in, and is now down 60/40 with 23% in... but whatever.
