The difference is...

Flipping a coin would be unbiased.

The Lamestream exit polls are not.

In 04 Kristol had the biggest hang dog expression and went on and on about how, essentially "the voters had rejected Bush's policies", etc, etc....

Wrong again. Remember the definition of an expert:

Ex=has been
Spurt=drip under pressure

Exactly. It's absolutely shameful for FOX or anyone else, including FReepers, to be spreading exit poll data around when it's got such a bad track record and is only used to discourage Republicans in the midwest and west. As I said earlier, there's a reason the mods said NO posting of exit polls.

Hugh is hopelessly polyanish. Predicted Bush would take California on the eve of the 2000 election (lost by 15 or so). He continually makes these types of statements every election cycle.

Hope he's correct, but I'm listening and he's quoting no source, which leads me to believe that he's basing this on optimism and past polling errors.

We need to consider the posibility that the pollsters have corrected their methodology. Didn't they predict Landon or Wilkie would beat FDR? They learned from their errors and made improvements 60 years ago. Recently, they screwed up 2000, 2002, and 2004...perhaps they've fixed the problem.

I hope not, but be very wary of Hugh's optimism. He relishes hyperbole.

Okay. I clicked on that. When I heard before, Hugh was just arguing with some guy about the weather. Hopefully the show will improve.
