Subject: Urgent - Election in Jeopardy - Need Your Help!
Dear Supporter,
Would you please do me a favor?
Our internal poll tracking is showing that turnout is light in our key counties. If this trend continues through the rest of the day we may face real trouble. In 2002 we won because of the incredible turnout. Our latest comparison of turnout, shows a decline that could put the election in jeopardy.
I need you to immediately forward this email to 10 of your friends, family, and coworkers and urge them to vote now!
As soon as you have sent the email, please go vote right away.
Thank you and Godspeed,
Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. Governor
I have no idea.
WCBM news at one o'clock just reported Baltimore City with low turnout but Baltimore County is extremely heavy.
If the Baltimore City turnout is poor, its probably an indication that Cardin and O'Malley are toast. There's alot of resentment in the African American community in MD due to Mfume being dissed in the Dem senate primary. Lots of Baltimore City folks may be staying home today.
that is good.
Are you by any chance in Harford County? I'm stuck downtown and dying to know what's going on in J-ville.
I only did it on Sunday morning because that when I had a few minutes. I actually wanted to read and ponder the constitutional amendments. Other votes, however, were no brainers.
I would have voted absentee regardless of the deadline - it's just a better way when you are really busy.
Voting is a right, but it shouldn't be an imposition, either.
Frederick County is doing its part (a Red stronghold in a sea of blue) - local radio says Frederick County may have a 70-something percent turnout.
I didn't get the email, but am getting really fricking sick of the daily phone call recordings. I've now gotten *three* of them today. On my CELL PHONE. And I don't have the slightest idea about who to complain to.
Erhlich himself didn't send it out.
There's nobody to complain to. When Congress passed that "Do Not Call list" bill a few years ago, they made sure (as usual) to exempt themselves. Political phone calls are legal.

_____
Hell Yeah! That's the news I want to hear.
*sorry for the curse*
What I don't like is the erosion of the process. We have states releasing their absentee stats before the election starts. Absentee ballots that can be mailed the day before. No system to prevent someone voting twice when using a Absentee ballot. Crashing computers. And in some areas we have more than one election day. Now people seem to imply that we need to get used to not knowing the results of elections that day. BS!
I'm just sick of it all. It's amazing how people can corrupt such a simple process.
I've had at least 5 calls since Sunday.
We used to live there ourselves. Still remember my member number at the Coop. Are you in GHI, Old Greenbelt, or the "newer" parts of town?
I wonder if that IP tracks back to our friend MD4Bush.
I live in Lakeside North - really pretty nice and a lot cheaper than Montgomery County. And nice to be hidden and next to the police station. Most of the residents are Chinese graduate students so it's pretty quiet and safe.
That is good, since Bawlmore is one of the legs of the Democrats' three-legged stool (at least one of which they may lose in the Senate race.)
However, when I showed up at my polling place we were talking to one of the people handing out literature for my newly-Republican State Senator and he was saying that they were a little concerned that the turnout was low.
It's extremely light in Baltimore City (Belair-Edison). Way lighter than I've ever seen it.
And not that it means anything, but the demographic that I saw at the polls (mostly elderly white males) is a complete 180 from the demographic that turned out here for Bush/Kerry in 2004 (mostly middle-aged non-whites, majority female).
Agreed, voted in northern Baltimore County at 7:30am and there was already a steady line. When I voted in 2004 at 8:30am there was no line, people are turning out for the Governor and Senate races....and I live in a Red area of the state.
Just heard Baltimore city turnout so far is extremely light ....... about 10% whereeas Baltimore county was extremely heavy. Good news for Ehrlich and Steele!
