What else do you expect from CNN. By the way Foxnews is not much better; they are really gone way to the left.

Oh, I completely expected it from CNN. After they kept calling 3 point leads ties, I was listening specifically to hear what they would call a slim Democrat lead. I wasn't disappointed.

As for Fox News, they are still right of the others but I agree that they are much further left than they were a few years ago.

Let's say there are 14 tossups (some ananlysts have as many as 20). We've lost the 11 you mention and we take 80% of the tossups (especially the incumbents, remember they high re-election rates) the Dems fail to take the majority by one vote. I still think we might get the seats held by Foley and Delay. Early returns from Conn., NY, Penn. and Indiana will tell the story.

I'd like to add to the discussion of RCP, a site which I enjoy and rely on a lot. But if, as many of us here feel, most polls are garbage..for many reasons, then doesn't the vaunted RCP methodology of averaging all the polls really just give us GIGO..garbage in, garbage out?

Yes, it is just barely possible. The late Republican surge in the polling data may token a late break in our favor. My experience has been that "throw the bums out" rhetoric against an unpopular incumbent tends to falls short unless the challenger presents a credible alternative. This may prove to be the Democrats undoing because they nationalized their grievances and complaints but did not present clear remedies.

They echo Bob Novak's predictions, and he is one of the very best political reporters around.

I am beginning to feel a win might just be coming our direction. The far left.... is not going to CHEAT US out of the true votes.

I'm watching the cable networks and I'm really puzzled why Terry McCauliffe and Charles Schumer are so incredibly happy and are both predicting losses of 20+ minimum for the House.

Do they know something hard-and-fast that is telling them that it will actually happen the way the Dems have been predicting??

Go out there and vote!

I think you can be pretty confident that the people involved in this discussion have already voted or are about to vote.

And there is no reason one cannot both (a) vote AND (b) speculate about the results.

Squelching the discussion on a discussion board would seem to me to be a rather odd enterprise anyway.

>>We never see him in Kansas.

I've lived in NE Kansas for four years. Without checking more carefully this marks at least the third time that Dubya has been here since I moved. Prior to this, he was here for the Brown v. Board of Education 50-year anniversary and dedication of the memorial and he gave a speech at K-State this spring.

I agree though that the Ryun race is close and snuck up on everyone. I think that the Republicans woke up to the closeness of this race and rallied and will GOTV. It is close enough that the final result might not be known for a couple of days.

I meant for reasons of election support, because their time, whether republican or democratis better spent elsewhere.

We do get them here for other reasons.
