Iraq urges calm ahead of Saddam verdict

SNIP
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraq's prime minister on Saturday urged his countrymen to accept the impending verdict against Saddam Hussein without violence, then in the next breath declared the former dictator must get "what he deserves" with the decision that could send him to the gallows.
>>However, Ramsey Clark, a former US attorney-general and traitor to the US who advised Saddams defence team<<
I wonder if anybody was really surprised to see the SOB urging leniency for Saddam?
The whole world knows he gassed the Kurds.
His deth sentence should be carried out NOW.
But the "New Tone" thing will propably delay his hanging about as long as it takes to build the border fence.
Small quake recorded in south Oklahoma
DUNCAN, Okla. The Oklahoma Geological Survey says it recorded a small earthquake in Stephens County.
The survey says a three-point-one magnitude quake was recorded about ten miles southeast of Duncan shortly before 5:30 yesterday morning.
Officials say the earthquake wasn't strong enough to knock anything off walls or shelves and most people wouldn't have even noticed it unless they were awake.
I was awake too and I didn't feel it. Or maybe I did and attributed it to my vertigo.
I am a native of San Diego and lived with earthquakes all my life. Yours was a small one. :)
Oh, I know it was a small one but I'm a native Texan living now in rural SW Ok. There just aren't many earthquakes in my neck of the woods and I had to go and miss the darned thing!
Did you go to bed too soon to enjoy it? We were up late and I lost track of the time.
I don't know what they read, but the Old Media gave much more air/print to a sad story like Natalie Holloway than they ever did to Saddam's trial. The last few days, the Baltimore Sun even used headlines calling him "Hussein" a much less inflammatory title than "Saddam" these days.
bump
Nope, my sleep pattern has been all messed up ever since I had surgery back in June. I was wide awake both yesterday morning when the quake occurred and this morning while hanging out on this thread.
Not sure why I didn't feel it since I can always tell when Ft. Sill over in Lawton is doing bombing excercises and that's even further away than the epicenter of this quake.
Hmmmm, have you ever been in the area of an earthquake? The smaller, longer ones can make you feel a little dizzy, whreas the larger ones shake the windows and rattle dishes. I have had a huge TV fall off a huge hearth and have sustained window damage and a huge crack in the ceiling of one house.
I recall several during my childhood. Vividly recall the bed swaying and a lamp falling over.
Nope, Texas and Oklahoma don't get many earthquakes. I've been on vacation in California, Nevada and Colorado but never when any type of tremours were happening.
This may have been my one and only chance and I muffed it! Drat!
Haven't I warned you about the Halliburton Vortex before? Beware!
I may be the only person on FR to say it aloud but I am very offended by the graphic. Rove is in no way God with the ability to create life.
--The bridges crossing the Tiger, which know a strong multitude permanently, are crossed only by rare patrols of police force, the thunder claps replace the deaf noises of the explosions. --
This Iraci translatur did nut studdy hard enoph. That's is why he is be stuk thair in that Messopottamus county.
Not sure if it's the Meers Fault or not (or Rove/Cheney's, lol). They've been waiting for that one to blow for 20 years.
You're adjacent to the two most *quakeriferous* counties in the state - not coincidentally, two of the most petroleum-productive, too - ask me.
Here's the tally through the end of last year:

Wish I wuz smaht enuff to reed dat.
The only one I ever *thought* I felt, along with a few dozen other people in OKC, turned out to be a well blowout in Kingfisher.
--SWINGTIME IN BAGHDAD! Ramsey should get the firing squad.--
Ramzi Clarq should be hanged by his humongous ears.
The Romanians (Old Europe) had the right idea when they got rid of the tyrant Ceausescu and wife Elena. NO kidding around there. Just do it. Screaming and yelling all the way.
