By CHRISTOPHER BODEEN, Associated Press Writer 38 minutes ago
SNIP
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraq's prime minister on Saturday urged his countrymen to accept the impending verdict against Saddam Hussein without violence, then in the next breath declared the former dictator must get "what he deserves" with the decision that could send him to the gallows.

Sarc/ AP.....
Former Iraq dictator Sadaam Hussein was found guilty of genocide charges at 3 am EST, and was executed by hanging at 3:05 am EST.
He writhed and gasped for 15 minutes and twitched for another 15 minutes before being lowered and pronounced dead by attendant medical personnel at 3:35 am, EST.
Riots in the streets staged by the US Democrat party are expected within the hour.....breaking.

What do you wanna bet that there are a LOT of dems that would LOVE for him to be acquitted, so they can bash Bush about it...2 days before the election?? Considering that LBJ's former Attorney General is one of the lawyers representing Saddam ???
I think it's a safe bet they'll be cheering for an acquittal

There has been an interesting C-SPAN conference with a guy from Vanderbilt who helped put together the new laws and is now out hawking a book. He said one of the best things that's going on now, with Saddam's trial, is that, for the first time, Iraqi people are seeing how a real justice system works, and that the benefits from that, over the long term, are immeasurable.
