"Al Qaeda welcomes Democratic victory"
TODAY'S COLUMNIST
By Walid Phares
November 22, 2006
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The latest audio by al Qaeda's Iraq commander -- posted 48 hours after the midterm elections -- sends a clear signal to the readers of the jihadi strategic mind: Al Qaeda and its advisers around the world want to provoke an "American Madrid." Portraying the United States as a bleeding bull in disarray, the war room projects its wish to see America's will crippled. The video attempts to do the following: "
Sorry I have to explain it. Thought it was clear.
Our guys and the Iraqis continue to complete missions every day with success, but according to the MSM and the Left there is no progress of any kind being made. How many people are fully aware of the numerous caches that have been found, or this one for that matter? How many hear about the terrorist that have been either rounded up or killed? I don't think most people understand that some of the bad guys being detained at Gitmo are from Iraq. It's a vague concept that those prisoners are terrorist, not people who stole chewing gum.
"Al Qaeda welcomes Democratic victory"
That says it all for me.
To the Dems that celebrated on the 8th, I am glad that I wasn't one of you. I'd know that I had done the wrong thing if the enemies of my country rejoiced.
Once a Democrat...never again!
The troops are always in my thoughts and prayers since they make it all possible! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
If you want to add something heavenly to the dessert tray, try the Philidelphia Cheesecake Filling that comes in a tub. It is amazing! You can spread it on graham crackers and eat just that way, or be creative with the toppings like peanut butter, jam, fruit (strawberries, blueberries, etc), chocolate, etc. I found it this week and am addicted, as is everyone else that I've introduced to it.
Well here on The Threat Matrix, I post those a lot from DefenseLink and we do read here about the terrorists that are caught, killed, etc.
I salute our troops and their mission.
I guess you might say, you are preaching to the choir here.
(My husband was in the 82nd Airborne, fyi.)
A blessed Thanksgiving to you TWhiteBear.
Yep, the house smells like pumpkin pie spice now.

Shouting "Allahu akbar," protestors occupy Hagia Sophia to protest Pope's visit to Turkey
They entered the once-great cathedral, in its desacralized and appropriated state an international symbol of jihadist aggression and Islamic supremacism, and shouted a threat: "Pope, don't make a mistake, don't wear out our patience."
"Protesters occupying building detained," by Benjamin Harvey for Associated Press, with thanks to Twostellas:
ISTANBUL, Turkey - Police on Wednesday detained about 40 members of a Turkish nationalist party who earlier had occupied one of Istanbul's most famous buildings, the Haghia Sophia, to protest the visit next week of Pope Benedict XVI.
The protesters belong to the Great Unity Party, a far right-wing group that has previously staged demonstrations against the planned Nov. 28-Dec. 1 visit.
They entered the 6th century former Byzantine church and mosque, shouting "Allahu akbar!" "God is great!" and then knelt to perform Islamic prayers.
They also shouted a warning to Benedict: "Pope, don't make a mistake, don't wear out our patience."
A group leader read a statement saying Benedict had offended Muslims with his comments linking violence and Islam, but the reading was interrupted by police.

Ruben Shumpert, who federal agents allege made his Rainier Valley barber shop a kind of "anti-American training ground for Muslims" where children were taught "how to shoot and fight the Americans," has telephoned the FBI to say he won't be going to prison anytime soon.
Shumpert, who faces sentencing on federal counterfeiting and weapons charges, has fled to Somalia. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Shumpert, who is also known as Amir Abdul Muhaimin, Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Redkey said. He was to be sentenced Tuesday.
Shumpert -- an African American convert to Islam -- was among more than a dozen, mostly African immigrants from Islamic countries arrested by the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force two years ago on a mix of charges, including immigration fraud and bank fraud.
Shumpert was never charged with any terrorism crimes, but court documents paint a picture of his barber shop at 7821 Rainier Ave. S. as a gathering place for adherents of radical Islam where he showed children videotapes of "fighting, shooting and killing with images on Shumpert's computer screen of al-Qaida and the Taliban."

22 November 2006
Emsdetten, Germany (dpa) -
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Many residents said they were just thankful that no one else had been killed. A total of 37 people were injured by gunshots, fumes from Bosse's smoke bombs or in the panic.

EXCERPTS FROM HIS DIARY
German school shooter venerated as "God'' one Columbine gunmen
11/22/2006
Sebastian Bosse shot and injured four students and a janitor on Monday as he rampaged through a high school near the Dutch border, before killing himself.
A German teen who stormed his former school with guns and bombs had venerated as "God'' one of the gunmen in the 1999 Columbine shooting in the U.S., according to excerpts from his diary published Wednesday.
Sebastian Bosse shot and injured four students and a janitor on Monday as he rampaged through a high school near the Dutch border, before killing himself.
Bild newspaper published sections of Bosse's diary, which it said he e-mailed to friends hours before the attack. Police said the excerpts were authentic.
Eric Harris, one of the two teens who killed 12 Columbine students and a teacher before killing themselves, was "probably the most sensible boy that a crappy high school can offer.
Eric Harris is God,'' Bosse wrote in an entry dated Sept. 16.
Like the Columbine killers, Bosse was a guns-obsessed outsider who had armed himself with homemade bombs as well as sawed-off guns.
On Friday, Bosse had written: "In three days, it will all be over! The people will lie dead on the school yard, the school will burn and my brains will be blown out!''
It emerged Wednesday that Bosse had bought weapons legally on the Internet.
EGun, a German-based online store aimed at hunters, said Bosse purchased weapons auctioned on its site three times in recent months.

"Private spies track extremists across world"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "IT SAYS its members brought about the conviction of radical Egyptian-born cleric Abu Hamza al-Masri, uncovered insurgent tactics in Iraq and are now working to provide intelligence from North Korea.
The organisation is not the US Central Intelligence Agency or Britain's MI6 but Vigil, a shadowy network of retired spies, senior military personnel, anti-terrorism specialists and banking experts.
The group's director Dominic Whiteman said he set up Vigil with two other businessmen last year to act as an conduit between retired spies who were still party to good, raw intelligence, and the police and security services.
"This evidence was just getting lost in the system," Mr Whiteman said.
Vigil numbers more than 30 members, from India to the United States.
Sixty per cent of Vigil's work involves gaining information via the internet, by infiltrating chatrooms.
The information gleaned is passed on to authorities such as the FBI, and British Counter Terrorism Command (CTC).
A CTC spokeswoman said: "The CTC is working closely with Vigil and in particular its director and spokesman who has made officers aware of chatroom material," she said."

"British hostage killed in Nigeria"
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "A British oil worker has been killed and an Italian seriously wounded during an attempt to free seven workers seized by Nigerian militants.
A Nigerian navy spokesman told the BBC that the remaining five foreign hostages had been rescued unharmed, while two militants were killed.
The hostages - two Finns, an Italian, a Filipino, a Briton, a Pole and a Romanian - worked for Italian firm Eni.
Hostages are usually freed unharmed, often after ransoms are paid.
Oil workers are regularly abducted in Nigeria by gangs saying they want a bigger share of oil revenues.
The BBC's Alex Last in Lagos says the line between criminal gangs and political militants is often blurred.
Shoot-out
The hostages were seized from a supply ship off the Niger Delta coast by 10 armed men on speedboats early on Wednesday morning.
Nigerian forces became involved in a shoot-out with the kidnappers during the rescue attempt."
