absolutely, it's immoral to kill and steal, but I didn't need the government to tell me that. The reason I haven't murdered anyone is not because it's illegal, it's because it's wrong. There are certain principles that all men should adhere to. The Ten Commandments is a good place to start. Morality is a set of principles by which one lives their life. Government is an insititution designed (originally) to protect men's rights, not to tell them how to live their lives.
The Second Amendment gurantees the right to bear arms. Since the right to protect yourself is a near universal principle, should we do away with that one? Seems superflous to me.
