Casey to Welcome Kerry to Philadelphia Tonight for Fundraiser
Pittsburgh - According to today's Philadelphia Inquirer, Bob Casey Jr. made the following comments about John Kerry's disparaging remarks yesterday:
"From what I can gather, Kerry botched a joke. That's what he said, and I take him at his word. He served in combat. Last time I checked, the president and the vice president did not. The White House and the Santorum forces should get to work on dealing with the real problems in Iraq. The first thing they should do is fire Mr. Rumsfeld instead of spending a lot of time trashing Democrats." (Jennifer Loven, "'04 foes exchange fire anew on troops, war, education," The Associated Press via The Philadelphia Inquirer, November 1, 2006)
Here's what John Kerry said yesterday during a speech in California, "You know, education -- if you make the most of it, you study hard and you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."
Vince Galko, campaign manager for Santorum 2006, "This wasn't a joke as Bob Casey contends. Casey needs to acknowledge these comments for what they were - disparaging to the honorable men and women serving in the armed services - and denounce them. We've known that Bob Casey is nothing more than a shallow mouth piece for the talking points assigned to him, but for Casey to not know that John Kerry crossed the line is deeply troubling. Bob Casey needs to rethink his comments and call on Kerry to apologize. Perhaps he can do so when John Kerry joins him for a fundraiser tonight in Philadelphia."
Me too, "LadyNavyVet", me too! God bless you for your service to our country!

Hey, the Biglerville Apple Festival is one of our favorite annual events. I always enjoy the Inca pipe players who perform there regularly as well as the copious volumes of apple cider:)
Maybe Kerry can go campaign for this guy...
Hillary didn't call on Kerry to apologize. She just said that his comments were "inappropriate". Where was the "I call on Senator Kerry to apologize for his inappropriate and insensitive comments." Even the "call of an apology" by Harold Ford isn't one. "Whatever the intent, Senator Kerry was wrong to say what he said." Where is Mr. Ford's demand that Mr. Kerry apologize? Where is the outrage? The Democrats aren't concern about one of their own insulting the men and women or our Armed Services. Their only concern is that Kerry's comments may endanger their chances in the mid-terms. They also share Kerry's shame by their refusal to demand Kerry apologize.
The timing is great!
Is Casey stupid, or what?
Too late. I believe all the commercial time has been sold already. However, most of us from Pennsylvania were not going to vote for Casey anyway. I already absentee. I finally talked my Mom into voting for Santorum by making phone calls and e-mails. A lot of effort but worth it. Pennsylvania was never going to vote for Casey in the end anyway. Santorum should just continue to do what he is doing and then open the champaign on Tuesday Night.
I think Casey just shot himself in the foot. Good.
He is going to. He was on FOX about fifteen minutes ago and he is speaking tonight in Philadelphia!

It was an honor to serve, even if I didn't always think so at the time.
Somebody in the Casey campaign is giving Bobby horrific advice. Lets hope they keep up the good work. I have been away for awhile (since this thread first appeared). Any salvos yet from Santorum? And any news (anyone?) on the actual fundraiser in Philly (supposed to be from 1 til 5 today). I'll keep checking.
We have been honored by your service!!!

Any doubts that Dems want to take out Santorum most of all?
LOLOL! Like two wooly bears mating on his forehead.
I'm gonna get flamed for this... but Santorum is being a bit disingenuous by saying Casey "endorsed" what Kerry said. Casey said, "From what I can gather, Kerry botched a joke. That's what he said, and I take him at his word." That is NOT an endorsement of Kerry's statement. That's an endorsement of Kerry's story about what he said.
We can't expect the msm to report accurately if we don't do it ourselves.
Only emergency absentee ballots....maybe. Check at http://www.votespa.com/ and click on absentee ballots on the right.
A beautiful place. Especially in the fall, driving among the apple orchards.
I'd say Scranton area is worse than Hburg. Dauphin county is a red county, AFAIK.
