Casey to Welcome Kerry to Philadelphia Tonight for Fundraiser
Pittsburgh - According to today's Philadelphia Inquirer, Bob Casey Jr. made the following comments about John Kerry's disparaging remarks yesterday:
"From what I can gather, Kerry botched a joke. That's what he said, and I take him at his word. He served in combat. Last time I checked, the president and the vice president did not. The White House and the Santorum forces should get to work on dealing with the real problems in Iraq. The first thing they should do is fire Mr. Rumsfeld instead of spending a lot of time trashing Democrats." (Jennifer Loven, "'04 foes exchange fire anew on troops, war, education," The Associated Press via The Philadelphia Inquirer, November 1, 2006)
Here's what John Kerry said yesterday during a speech in California, "You know, education -- if you make the most of it, you study hard and you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."
Vince Galko, campaign manager for Santorum 2006, "This wasn't a joke as Bob Casey contends. Casey needs to acknowledge these comments for what they were - disparaging to the honorable men and women serving in the armed services - and denounce them. We've known that Bob Casey is nothing more than a shallow mouth piece for the talking points assigned to him, but for Casey to not know that John Kerry crossed the line is deeply troubling. Bob Casey needs to rethink his comments and call on Kerry to apologize. Perhaps he can do so when John Kerry joins him for a fundraiser tonight in Philadelphia."
Just a hunch :)
Hee, Hee!

Neither did Bill Clinton. What does that have to do with anuthing?
Insightful! Hope you're right...we're all working to re-elect that good man, Senator Santorum!
Nancee
You bet! It is NOT over until you know who sings! Where are you now?

You mean the notes that morphed to omit a word or two? The notes of "nuance?"
I really doubt that "I did not have sexual relations with that woman!" rolls his eyes at any bold-faced lie! He is, afterall, the master of deceit!

Either Casey is tap-dancing or Kerry just simply cut and run after getting too much heat!
Casey made a bad move here.
Unlike Ford and Tester.
If we exploit this correctly in each state, they get hurt no matter which choice they make.
Podhoretz is over-analyzing. This helps no RAT in any race.
Richmond, Va. In the middle of another heated Senate race.
Having lived here since the mid-seventies, I don't think it is a lib vs. conservative issue. Most people here are social conservatives, but far too many love to be taken care of by the government. The political machine (Rendell/Specter/etc) buys votes from the Unions, the few businesses that are left (protectionism), and the farmers (tax breaks/subsidies)which combined with the urban constituent keep them in power.
Yep, yesterday was the deadline. I voted at my courthouse.
So, how do things appear to be going there in Gettysburg for Senator Santorum?
Nancee
And so does Jim Webb, apparently...
LOL!
You're in my neck of the woods. Born and raised in Hanover. Now living in the York area, but still get up to Gettysburg and Fairfield to hunt and go to the Apple Harvest Festival.
What the heck does that have to do with anything?
Guess its because as I heard someone say his injury in Vietnam might have been a piece of rice stuck in his butt and as we all know where Democrats brains are~~~~~~~need I say anything more?
