The Corner is reporting that John Kerry will hold a news conference at 2PM to discuss his recent comment.
These are Kerry's comments over the years about Iraq:
"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force-if necessary-to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security." Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002
"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation . . . . And, now. he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction . . . . So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real . . . ." Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003
Kerry's appearance on This Week on Feb. 22, 1998, when Saddam was harassing U.N. weapons inspectors. "We have to be prepared to go the full distance" to disrupt Saddam's regime, Kerry says. Cokie Roberts asks him, "Does that mean ground troops in Iraq?" Kerry replies, I am personally prepared, if that's what it meant. I don't think you have to start there. I think there are a number of other options. But what I hear from the administration, thus far, is if he doesn't comply, then we will hit him. The obvious question is, after you've hit him, have you opened up your inspections? Well, I think the answer is probably not, certainly not in the near term. After you've hit him, is he still in power, capable of building weapons again? Every bit of intelligence John [McCain] and I have says within various periods of time, he can rebuild both chemical and biological, and every indication is because of his deception and duplicity in the past, he will seek to do that. So we will not eliminate the problem for ourselves or for the rest of the world with a bombing attack.
Isn't this week the anniversary of the Wellstone pep rally?
"It COULD have staying power, but of course it won't"
It WILL, but ONLY if Republicans come out firing with BOTH BARRELS, RIGHT NOW....
Every single candidate has just been given the gift odf a hammer especially designed for Democrats, and it's far beyond time to do it....
LOL.
Kerry never grew up.
I don't mean to change the subject but next week Vermont will send a registered Socialist to the U.S. Senate - Bernie Sanders.
Your belief system ought to be seriously challenged by then.
Mitt Romney has also called for Kerry to apologize.
I got the impression that Kerry was vastly annoyed to have to do something so mundane as to address the issue.
It was all IIIII will not apologize. Bush should apologize.
He kinda stretches out the I... amazed he doesn't use the royal 'We.'
"Kennedy is talking election, and he told Mattthews one of the first things Democrats will do is pass embryonic stem cell research bill."
I'm waiting for the Dems to cure AIDS, like they said they would do back in 1992.
Dr. Laura has a son in the Army. Don't mess with mama.
I know exactly what you mean. I had a firend in college who was extremely liberal. He described himself as an anarchist. He was always going on about how the news networks were letting the President and government get away with so much, even MSNBC. I just couldn't see what he was talking about, what with the constant and never-ending attacks waged against the Bush Administration and all things conservative by these networks. It was like we were watching two different broadcasts of the same station.
Any comment from Kennedy yet?
Dr. Laura was pissed off!
LOL!! I see others have posted that too. "Kerryween"--perfect!
Re: this whole Karl Rove business...I neither kneew nor cared who Karl Rove was, before 2000. You'd think, listening to the Left, that no Republican ever won anything, apart from Karl Rove. Ronald Reagan? Yep, Karl Rove. Richard Nixon? Karl Rove. GHW Bush? Karl Rove.
You listen to stuff like this, and it is no wonder why there has been only 1 Democrat president in the last 28 years, and only 4 Democrat presidents in the last 48 years. Hell's bells, I'd probably be making excuses or looking for boogeymen myself. "Stolen elections", "black votes disenfranchised", "Diebold", "Karl Rove", "Wal-mart","we didn't get our message out"...blah blah blah.
I will only comment further on the last one. Their message DID get out. The media amplifies it every chance it gets. Their message has "gotten out" - and it has been rejected.
Fox news played what Kerry said. I heard it.
I just called his office and voiced my outrage!
