If it was a mangled joke, why didn't he just say so and apologize?If it was a mangled joke that he had used before, I'm sure he could have BY NOW found the same joke told in its entirety on some old tapes somewhere. The fact that he cannot is telling. The problem is, he has permanent Vietnam on the brain. He saw the grunts in Vietnam as poor sods who were unable to get out of the draft by going to college. But that isn't the case now.

A suicide attempt! Didn't address the issu. Didn't answer McCain's criticism. Didn't have anything to say other than usual boiler plate DFU and KOS Kvetching.
Note that his right eye is not as open as his left and it may be slightly recessed complared to left. He has little or no facial expression other than a stiff countenance suggesting anger.
How this guy got into law school let alone the US Senate has to be the function of charm and political pull. He is not ready for prime time now and was not before. He simply cannot deal with any kind of mistake he makes either in the past or in the present.
