Senator Kerry owes an apology to the many thousands of Americans serving in Iraq, who answered their country's call because they are patriots and not because of any deficiencies in their education. Americans from all backgrounds, well off and less fortunate, with high school diplomas and graduate degrees, take seriously their duty to our country, and risk their lives today to defend the rest of us in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere.
They all deserve our respect and deepest gratitude for their service. The suggestion that only the least educated Americans would agree to serve in the military and fight in Iraq, is an insult to every soldier serving in combat, and should deeply offend any American with an ounce of appreciation for what they suffer and risk so that the rest of us can sleep more comfortably at night. Without them, we wouldn't live in a country where people securely possess all their God-given rights, including the right to express insensitive, ill-considered and uninformed remarks.
Let's see if this makes MSM news when Rangel calls the VP a SOB and Kerry calls every man & woman in our entire Military, uneducated and DUMB!
Any bets?
I'm not a big McCain fan either, but his comments are spot-on this time. Kerry is a disgrace. He and Murtha, and the rest of their band of bozos need to be run out of town on a rail.
Good link. This is catching fire.
Irey needs to call on Murtha to repudiate Kerry's statement..
Kerry will apologize, say he didn't mean it the way it came out, remind us that he was in the service in Vietnam. He will ignore the fact that he only went in the Navy after he was refused a deferment to continue studies in Paris, and only served in Vietnam because the type of vessel he was on was then assigned for Vietnam duty, which then required three invented Purple Hearts to escape from the assigment and get back to the States.
Just as the Dems try to tie President Bush to the House and Senate Republicans up for re-election, the RNC should be making ads immediately, tieing Kerry and his loathing of the military to the likes of doves like Casey, Sherrod Brown, and Tester.
The media fawns over McCain. Mark my words, this will make the news now.
Thanks for posting.
Glad to see McCain "step up to the plate!"
I understand Tony Snow also reprimanded Kerry this a.m.
As a Marine Corps Viet Nam combat veteran, I find everything about John Kerry despicable.
I have personally met many of the Marines serving in Iraq and you could not be prouder of these men. All were PH recipients and many with multiple PH's & multiple tours of combat duty in Iraq!
Semper Fi,
Kelly
I know what you mean....
Wow, something I can actually agree with McCain on...
Guess that's why he went to Vietnam? Guess again.
The whole Republican House and Senate need to call a press conference immediately and denounce Kerry's remarks!
Posted the following on another thread. Statement from the Kerry camp on the on-going flap:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 31, 2006
Statement of John Kerry Responding to Republican Distortions, Pathetic Tony Snow Diversions and Distractions
Washington Senator John Kerry issued the following statement in response to White House Press Secretary Tony Snow, assorted right wing nut-jobs, and right wing talk show hosts desperately distorting Kerrys comments about President Bush to divert attention from their disastrous record:
If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they're crazy. This is the classic G.O.P. playbook. Im sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did.
Im not going to be lectured by a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium, or doughy Rush Limbaugh, who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Foxs Parkinsons disease to start lying about me just as they have lied about Iraq. It disgusts me that these Republican hacks, who have never worn the uniform of our country lie and distort so blatantly and carelessly about those who have.
The people who owe our troops an apology are George W. Bush and Dick Cheney who misled America into war and have given us a Katrina foreign policy that has betrayed our ideals, killed and maimed our soldiers, and widened the terrorist threat instead of defeating it. These Republicans are afraid to debate veterans who live and breathe the concerns of our troops, not the empty slogans of an Administration that sent our brave troops to war without body armor.
Bottom line, these Republicans want to debate straw men because theyre afraid to debate real men. And this time it wont work because were going to stay in their face with the truth and deny them even a sliver of light for their distortions. No Democrat will be bullied by an administration that has a cut and run policy in Afghanistan and a stand still and lose strategy in Iraq.

This is Rove's REAL october suprise. Step back and let the Democrats get confidence and then they sometimes slip and say what the REALLY think.
Amen, brother.
I know a number of people currently serving in our armed forces. They are, without exception, bright, committed, well-educated, capable, patriotic and sane. None of these qualities can be attributed to Mr. Kerry and his ilk.
McCain Comet passes briefly near the Sanity Nebula.
Enjoy it while you can.
