Muslim insurgents behead 14-year-old Christian boy

A website in Assyria is confirming that a 14-year-old Christian boy who was working a 12-hour shift maintaining an electric generator has been murdered by Muslim insurgents.

The Assyrian International News Agency said the tragedy was reported by an Assyrian language web page at www.ankawa.com.

The youth was identified as Ayad Tariq, who lived in Baqouba, Iraq, and was at work on Oct. 21 when a group of "disguised Muslim insurgents" went into the power plant shortly after his shift began at 6 a.m.

The website reported the insurgents asked him for his identification and, according to other witnesses who hid and stayed alive to report on the attack, questioned his identification card's reference to him as a "Christian."

Are you truly a "Christian sinner," they asked.

"Yes, I am Christian but I am not a sinner," he replied.

The insurgents then called him a "dirty Christian sinner," grabbed his limbs and held them while beheading him, the witnesses reported.

They were shouting, "Allahu akbar! Allahu Akbar!" during the murder, witnesses said.

An organization called AssyrianChristians.com said they are the indigenous people of Iraq, with a population that has been in the Middle East from the time of Christ.

However, they have faced a number of purges by the region's rulers over time, including the present attacks by powerful Islamic factions across Iran, Iraq and neighboring nations, officials said.

Only two generations back, Assyrian Christians made up 20 percent of the population of the Middle East, but during the Assyrian Genocide of 1915, an estimated three million Christians were slaughtered there, the organization said.

Current estimates are that there are about 2.5 million Assyrian Christians in Iraq.

Kenneth Scott LaTourette wrote in "A History of Christianity" that the Assyrian Christians became the first nation to accept Christianity, and one of the largest missionary-sending peoples in Christian history.

"The Assyrian Christians are one of the last remaining Christian communities in the Middle East," said Rev. Ken Joseph Jr., of the Assyrian Christians organization.

Tens of thousands of Assyrian Christians have fled their traditional homelands in recent months, officials confirmed.

Between today and the election, on each WoT or Iraq thread I encounter, I will respond thusly:

I urge all Americans to purchase and read Mark Steyn's new book:

America Alone; The End of the World as We Know It.

Then go vote!

In fact, buy two, and give one to someone who thinks Islam is the "Religion of Piece" or does not quite understand what the "Religion of Peace" adherents intend to do to Western Civilization.

After reading Steyn's book, there will be no doubt as to what those bastards have in mind for us!

[I will not give the ending away -- you'll have to read the book!]

"Hmmm... would a Christian have said "I am a Christian but I am not a sinner?""

God does not see Christians as sinners..they are covered by Christ's sacrifice. Maybe that is what he meant.

Good point--though in this case, I'd say that's a little too kind...

God bless this young boy...

I am for annihilating these snake pits. I pray they will convert but if not and they continue to harass and kill peace loving people, they should be annihilated. Maybe Ann Coulter was right to begin with.

How can you bring peace and democracy to a people whose very religion is the foundation that has prevented both? We are basing all of our policies on the hope that we can convince the people to not be faithful Muslims who literally interpret the Koran. Seems like the civilized world needs to band together and destroy the very foundation. Burn their mosques and kill their leaders. Technologically, this is a war we can handle easier today. Culturally, this is a war we could have handled better a 100 years ago.

I know. But just saying: let's protect only Americans from Islam is kind of like letting the barbarians kill until they reach our gates -- that's NOT the way. The way is to go out and eradicate the barbarians, help our Christian brethern in far-away lands

Hmmm... would a Christian have said "I am a Christian but I am not a sinner?"

Under the circumstances perhaps he just could not put all of that together at the time. Do you think had he stated it correctly he may have been spared? I kinda doubt that.

I believe that's the point. It's what passes for political debate these days (most of which boils down to "my side is purity and truth, your side eats babies.")

I agree to a point. They have to want our help before it would be meaningful. Anything less would be considered forcing our culture upon others. My post was in reference to another that specifically stated that Americans have trusted Muslims and now they are like a cancer spreading in our veins.

Bull....The MSM hates Bush so much (probably because he is a Christian) they have have sided with baby killers...the results are that they have placed politics above lives and morals.

It really doesn't matter. The child's martyrdom makes him a saint for all of us.

Thank you, that was my thought too.

We Lutheran's also struggle with it, but we have what is called the Two Kingdoms. The Kingdom of the Church is involved with the preaching of the Gospel. The Church is not called to take up the sword. The kingdom of the state is called to take up the sword, and to protect it's citizens and the Church. I probably mangled the distinciton, but it is one of the things that is at the basis of Lutheran theology (and one of the things that is the most often ignored.)

In short, while we should not pray or preach for a flight of B-52's to carpet bomb the area, we as citizens should also realize that there is times where action must be taken to preserve life and the Church. Because of the sinful and fallen state of mankind, force is sometimes necessary for the greater good.

Sadly, Spain is falling again.

A friend of mine now lives in Galcia with his wife. I worry about them. There are parts of Spain that are now muslim, and unsafe for them to go into.
