"Death Of A President" (Debbie Schlussel Slams More Moonbat/Islamist PR Shtick Alert)

The much-hyped "Death of a President" isn't worthy of its press. It's a boring, silly movie that's hardly plausible. Unless you're a shrieking leftist who believes in all the BS about Muslims not being terrorists, but being loyal Americans who are wrongly maligned. Then, this is your movie.

If you want to see this movie and don't want to find out who really killed President Bush, stop reading here. For everyone else, guess what? The assassin is not the Syrian Muslim, who trained in an Al-Qaeda terrorist training camp in Afghanistan, found with gun powder on his clothing.

Nope, the gun powder was on his clothing "by coincidence," he trained at the terror camp because he's a peaceful guy who thought the camp was just about learning more about Islam (the same excuse everyone who trains there says when they get caught), and he's just an innocent hard-working Syrian Muslim American patriot. Why, even his wife tells us she "cried for three days" after the 9/11 attacks and that the first thing she learned was the American National Anthem.

No, predictably, the assassin of the Prez is not the wrongly-convicted, innocent, peace-loving, Al-Qaeda trainee Syrian. It's a Black American Vietnam Vet whose two sons fought in Iraq, one of whom was killed there. Of course, a Vietnam Vet or parent of kids serving or slain in Iraq would murder the President. Gee, why didn't we think of that.

In "Death," despite all the evidence that the vet is the killer, Congress has passed Patriot Act III, and the innocent Muslim is still in prison, easily convicted with no chance of getting out. And no-one will look at the evidence, including a suicide note apologizing for killing the Prez, that the Black American left behind.

That's the gist of this absurd movie, which is told documentary-style. The chubby, red-headed woman who plays Bush's speechwriter, resembles the excessively fawning former George H.W. Bush speechwriter and friend of Oprah, Peggy Noonan, in a lot of ways. The movie version of her endlessly gushes BSingly over President Bush just as the real-life version does.

Other than that, this film bears no resemblance to reality. And should bear no claim on the time and money you'll have wasted watching it.

Mark Cuban, whose Landmark Theaters are showing the film nationwide, told me he's proud that he's showing the movie. That should tell you a lot about him. Maybe one day he'll show a movie where Muslims--as in real life--are actually the terrorists and the movie doesn't ask you to sympathize with them a la his "The War Within."

You really don't want to pay to see "Death Of A President" - unless you're a moonbat or Islamist. There's the usual PR nod to the Black Veteran being framed by eevil conservatives and an innocent Muslim (they are ALWAYS innocent in Hollywood) rotting in jail. The most controversial scenes surround the assassination of President Bush in 2007. As for this movie's worth? Its leftist dreck that bears no resemblance to reality whatsoever - skip it.

Isn't the movie being distributed by an arm of Viacom? IIRC.

Well, there is "Saint Sheehan" as a good example of the plausability of this perp.

Couple of things:

Regarding the movie: WHere is the outrage over stereotyping the crazed black man?

Regarding movies: My husband was channeling flipping and I think landed on the Actor's Studio. They were interviewing Pacino. As part of the interview, they were showing lots of clips of a movie he has made portraying some guy called Roy Cohn? We didn't know who that was. But is was clear from the clips he was some gay guy on a power trip.

I said to my hubby: "Now that's a movie I'm just dying to see."

Naturally, its all Bush's fault. He deserved to be murdered. Believe it or not, there's a veritable cottage industry for this kind of sick insanity in parts of America where people whose hatred of Bush is veeering over into outright madness will go see this kind of snuff film. Bush bad, Al Qaeda good.

It was given "half a star" by the NY Post. I'm sure that won't stop the droves in this town.

There's the anti-black racism of the Left. They show a black Veteran killing Bush. In their depraved minds, n*ggers are murderers. But not the Al Qaeda terrorists who mass murdered 3,000 Americans. Guess what? In their world, conservatives are the ones who are guilty of racism!

Ooops!

Looks like they'll be hearing from the NAACP real soon.

NOT!

Given the sickness of the type who would make (or watch) this type of trash, I'm sure the black vet is played very sympathetically as a sort of "martyr" who just gave Bush what he deserved.

From Wiki:

Roy Marcus Cohn (February 20, 1927 – August 2, 1986) was an American lawyer who came to prominence during the investigations by Senator Joseph McCarthy into alleged Communism in the U.S. government, especially the Army-McCarthy Hearings. A highly controversial figure, he wielded tremendous political power at times. Cohn was a member of the Democratic Party but was widely considered a "Democrat In Name Only" (DINO), as he supported most of the Republican presidents of his time and Republicans in major seats across New York.

The scene that you mention came from "Angels in America", where Cohn (played by Pacino) is on his death bed being haunted by the ghost of Ethel Rosenberg. (rolls eyes) Yes, it's as good as it sounds.

The funny thing is that there is another thread today 'Is There Progress Through Loss?' about voters today: 'They want to fire Congress because they can't fire President Bush' by Peggy Noonan.

Lefties a very horrible people. I know because I hung out in their circles until I got tired of the disagreements over the war on Terrorists. I was pretty steamed when they disagreed about Afganistan(don't let them get away with the BS they supported that one, they didn't), but when they came out in droves calling Iraq an illegal war, I lost it. Maybe when they get out of bed history starts over, but I rememeber a few things from the 90's like stories about Saddam shooting at our planes. I remember some noise about taking out Saddam coming from the left. Now they are trying to say they were always against this war, utter BS Clinton signed removing Saddam into law. There is no doubt in my mind they will watch this movie and talk about making it a reality. Watch their message boards, the FBI will be.
