Woman Wallops Intruder With Cooking Pot
The Associated Press ^ | Oct 25, 2006

A woman watching television in her nightgown raced from her bedroom and attacked a man with a cooking pot after he stole golf clubs from her porch, police said.

Sabrena Davis said she first grabbed a knife after a neighbor yelled to tell her that a man had taken the clubs, but then decided to instead attack him with a 10-inch cooking pot.

"I started beating him with it. He asked for it," she said.

Davis' attack slowed Timothy A. Simison, 27, until police arrested him outside her home Tuesday morning shortly after she had whacked him in the head and shoulders with the pot.

The Hartford City man, who was being held without bond Wednesday at the Delaware County Jail, faces preliminary charges of attempted burglary and theft.

Police said Simison was on a crack cocaine binge when he tried burglarizing the two-story house where Davis, 36, lives with her brother, Maurice Garrett.

A neighbor who noticed Simison on the enclosed front porch where Garrett keeps tool boxes, tackle boxes and golf clubs cornered Simison on the porch and yelled to Davis, who ran downstairs and attacked with the pot.

Simison tried to escape custody several times, including working his handcuffed hands from behind his back to his front by passing them under his feet, said Muncie police Lt. Al Williams.

When police searched Simison before placing him in a holding cell at city hall, they found a cell phone in one of his socks belonging to one of the officers who had transported him.

"Talk about a klepto. If you sit back and look at this, it's almost comical," Williams said.

Police said they found a stolen lawnmower in a car Simison had parked behind Davis' house.

It seems to me that he was stealing violent weapons, possibly to use on her. I believe Martha Moxley was murdered by one.

LOL! I thought exactly the same thing. We'll have to apply for cooking pot licenses, we'll also have to pay a fee to have one, a special permit to have a concealed cooking pot, and won't be able to carry one across a state line.

I told my husband once that if he ever had a guy in front of him that was planning on doing him harm, not to look back at me as I snuck up behind him.

I've got a lot of cast iron...I'd whale the snot out of him.

I believe Martha Moxley was murdered by one.

But that doesn't count because one of drunk fat ted's relatives did it.

Heh heh!!

I once chased a German Shepherd out of my back yard that had dug under my fence and killed my pet hens. I chased that dog clear down the street in my house robe, with a butcher knife in one hand and bloody chicken in the other.

A few people drove by me while I was chasing it, but nobody stopped...can't figure why.

;-)

As well they should! It could have been one of those fully automatic pots! With a flash suppressor! We HAVE to get these things off the streets!

It must have been one of those deadly assault pots. We must have POT CONTROL now. It is for the children. Did she have a concealed carry pot license? I am sure she did not. Prosecute her now.

Well, there you have it ... don't bring a lawnmower to a cooking-pot fight.

I would have whacked him with the pan until I could grab one of the golf clubs, then I would have beat him until the cops pulled me off. Good for her I am glad he got whacked. I hope she did a number on him.
