The end of Ramadan cannot come soon enough for our Troops! There is no end in sight and everyday we lose more and more Soldiers and Marines! I am in touch with dozens of Soldiers and the stories they tell me would make your blood run cold! Things have gone from bad to unbearable in Iraq and what are we going to do about it? We can't possibly pull out, I am not suggesting that, but perhaps letting our Soldiers BE Soldiers and not policemen might be a good start.

What is the solution? How many more Soldiers and Marines are going to have to die before something is done?

No, the end of the US elections cannot come soon enough. This spike in casualties has less to do with Ramadan then it does with the US elections, proving what we've been saying that the terrorists hear the division the Democrats have sowed on the war and have thus been emboldened. The terrorists are driving up US casualties, and now possibly capturing this soldier, to keep a stream of bad news from Iraq coming to help elect Democrats. American voters need to ask why the terrorists are openly working to elect Democrats by providing them with as much bad news as possible to campaign on.

I pray for this soldier. The "religion of peace" seems to be celebrating their holy days in the usual way. Sickening.

"... the missing service member was an Army translator." Anybody have any clue how this happens? The translator is generally with the patrol leader, who is generally where he can best C2 the patrol, which is generally somewhere in the middle.

This is an update on the story:
A U.S. soldier in Baghdad was reported missing late Monday, and residents said American forces sealed the central Karadah district and were conducting door-to-door searches. Other reports claimed he was an Army translator of Iraqi descent and was abducted.
A military official in Washington said the missing service member was a translator and that the initial report was he may have been abducted. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the information was not cleared for release.

I think this is Baghdad not Ramadi. What happened to the buddy system?

I have faith in the commanders and the heroes there.
However,
The media must be told to get the f out. Media---OUT!!! All of 'em...OUT! NOW!!!
Wars are not waged with communications majors reporting exagerrations and lies. Give them 24 hours to get out. And only US military approved reports should be given out to the networks and media outlets.
Enough already!
