You apparently need another 9/11 attack and a few thousand more dead bodies to realize what the hell is going on.

Let me guess what the hell is going on that I'm too stupid to know - we're at war with all Muslims, who are the enemy. Every Muslim is out to kill us. The only good Muslim is a dead Muslim.

Sorry. Although that seems to be a popular view of some on Free Republic, I don't believe it. The President of the United States doesn't believe it. Most Americans don't believe it.

We're not at war with all of Islam - if we were, we'd be fighting a billion people, and would be severely outnumbered. If we were, we'd have no shot in Iraq, where we have a mere 150,000 boots on the ground to conquer a nation of 25,000,000. We wouldn't be training Iraqi forces (a.k.a. Muslims) to take care of their own country - we'd be forcing conversions at the end of an M-16. And we certainly wouldn't be training future Iraqi (a.k.a. Muslim) officers at places like West Point.

By the way, the level of abuse I and other posters who dare try to use reason have taken on this thread for is uncalled for. I've been called an ACLU member, not a conservative and brainwashed by Hillary!, and been told I can't read and need another 9/11 attack to realize what's going on. I don't think I've personally attacked anyone.

" The President of the United States doesn't believe it."

The way Bush has been fawning over Muslims is a damn embarassment to a thinking individual. I agree you have been hammered too hard tho!

" The President of the United States doesn't believe it."

So? That the President *may* believe it doesn't make it true.

"Most Americans don't believe it."

I doubt that's true. In fact, polls would seem to indicate an increasingly negative view of Islam. That was clear from the visceral reaction to Dubai assuming operations of a port terminals in places like New York.

We should be. The religion doesn't allow for any thinking which contradicts its teachings. Islam can't exist in a country with freedom. It is a very dangerous religion because it tolerates no other religion and treats women like cattle. You are allowed to lie to non-muslims and even kill them. People who want to practice Islam need to move to Mecca. They destroy whatever countries they dominate because they allow only sharia and kill all others.

I agree with you that we should not make war on all of Islam but we should attempt to change Islam.

Democracy in Iraq will force Sharia law to not be implemented in Iraq this forces 'true Islam' to change.

There are some with in Islam that wants to see a more secular Islam.
But if you just look at this statistic it shows you there are not many:
“Approval of attacks on US-Led Forces in Iraq 61% With 47% in January this year.”

..and you better get use to it because there are a lot of posters on this site that insist on thinking with their balls instead of their brains.

In catching up on this particular thread, I see where Rokke has repeatedly made one simple request for legal justification which has repeatedly been ignored by the forces of ignorance and hate.

For the record, I despise the muslim religion but I've got sense enough to know that we are not at war with over a billion people.

At some point in any debate, if reasonable debate is to proceed, there has to be a point of agreement, no matter how far back you have to go. There IS NO SUCH POINT with these FReepers, only blind ignorance and hate.

You make sense.

Obviously, America is not at war with all Muslims or Arabs.

In fact, many Arabs appreciate what America has done. The woman in that video ROCKS! Of course, I have to admit she's a Chaldean, not a Muslim. But so what ?

It's not as though there aren't many Arab Muslims who agree with her. Or are we supposed to think that people like the guys who write this blog are the enemy?

I do worry, though, about the tendency of those in government with respect to dealing with the members of minority religions and ethnicities. To reach out to those with radical/anti-American views and look at those without them as somehow illegitimate. Thomas Sowell has noted for decades that the GOP's general "outreach" strategy to blacks is to try to silence the Ward Connerly types and settle for being "Democrat lite". Similarly, outreach to Muslims seems to usually take the form of legitimizing CAIR. One would hope that a Muslim Chaplain with the views of a William Sloane Coffin, the former Yale Chaplain and anti-American radical, would be disallowed at West Point, just as one would hope Christian chaplains in the mold of William Sloane Coffin would be.
