I am your typical Republican "supervoter." .... But I'm seriously considering ending that streak this Nov. 7. ...
I'm also a contrarian -- a conservative with libertarian leanings. Combine all these characteristics, then mix in the aggregate Republican record, allow the ire it has created to rise and bake it for a few years and here's what comes out of the oven:
A party base that's mad as hell and no longer willing to rationalize GOP failures. It's a base whose crust grows darker and thicker -- i.e., angrier -- when prominent conservatives and Republicans -- politicians, pundits, radio talk-show hosts and think tankers sensing impending electoral doom -- pop out of their pumpkins and upbraid the watered-on for complaining about being wet.
....
...Pay no attention to the recidivists behind the curtain who, once every two years or four or six, make grand promises of fealty to conservative and party principles only to repeatedly fail to deliver. ... What's the definition of insanity again? In this case it's constantly returning Republicans to power and having the audacity to expect different results. And what could be more stupid than that?
....
Look, folks, it's time to take a stand. Returning this current crew of Republicans to power will only embolden them to spend more time, not less, off the conservative reservation. This is no time to dance the Rationalization Rumba. It is time for the GOP base to deliver a very big SMACK. It's the only way to start the process of true Republican/conservative reclamation.
Fellow Republicans and conservatives, do what you must on Nov. 7. But I, for one, refuse to yet again enter my polling place, vote for the usual GOP suspects...
It's time for the long-spanked to do some spanking.

With all due respect...you trust what Biden says to be true? Can you not see the psy-ops in that?
That's how it went....2 moderates and Tom Coburn. Then Coburn is against the DUmocrat (clone of Gephardt) who was properly portrayed as a puppet of Hellary and Ted Kennedy.
There is a world of difference.
Look at the justices that would not get through the
ratification process in the Senate. Alito and Roberts
would have had no chance under Majority Leader
Reid and Judiciary Chairman Shumer.
Under a Dem leader the Congress would have us pull
out of Afghanistan and Iraq with our tail between our
legs.
They are not the same.
No, but motormouth Joe can't keep a secret, and you can bet he's right on the money with this.
You guys with blind party-before-principle loyalty need to back off. The Republicans are in a fix not because of the voters, but because of apostate candidates who give the finger to the people who brought them to the dance.
The Free Republican threads are loaded with condemnations of traitors-to-conservatism like Hagel, Chaffee, Snowe, Graham, et al., yet you now want to reward them so they continue with their mischief.
Here's a warning - if the renegade Republicans are not taught a lesson now and come back in line with the people who put them in power, 2008 will be a disaster of unforeseeable proportions, worse than 1932. You won't see a Republican White House or Congress until you start collecting from the (bankrupt) Social Security fund.
Stop wasting your energies condemning Conservative Goddess and Colin McNickle and start working on the true villians, the RINOs in Congress and the Senate.
Just look at the poll on the front page if you need anymore proof as to just how irrelvant they are.
I knew that. I was hoping I was wrong. :-)
If we had to lose one branch of government, I'd far prefer it was the Senate which is already filled with a fair number of RINOs.
But to lose the gratifyingly conservative House will be devastating. And we probably won't win it back within our lifetime.
And the message sent will be a move to the left of center and then we'll all be left without a party to support.
Is that like the "Principle Over Party" mantra that some use while they announce support for a LIEberal DUmocrat who wants to undermine the WOT by removal of Rumsfeld? I've heard that bull$hit before....
The first part is (if the voters were active in the slightest), knowing what they are sending to D.C.
They should know if their candidate is worthy of office or not before they are nominated as a candidate. However, after one term in office you have a pretty good idea of what they are going to do or not do.
How about holding your own reps accountable DURING THE PRIMARY rather than bloat on about how all need to suffer so you can feel good about yourself.
Stay home...elect a Democrat! Yes, stupid,it is your choice!
It always seems like such a short walk to the Promised Land. You never expect forty years of wandering.
This is nothing but 'cut and run conservatives' that don't want to play with the team...
Don't listen to them, they are helping the other party....
And it's so easily forgotten that the GOP did learn a lesson and two years later we had the Contract With America and a conservative, GOP controlled Congress.
Well said, friend!
Well Said, Oldbill. And thank you for coming to my aid. The villians here are the apostates, not those who draw attention to their apostasy.
You know it!
This group does NOT count in any way, shape, or form, don't you know?
They are not in lockstep with the one issue voters and therefore should be ignored.
So you're saying you don't believe him...but you believe him. That kind of consistancy speaks volumes.
"The Free Republican threads are loaded with condemnations of traitors-to-conservatism like Hagel, Chaffee, Snowe, Graham, et al., yet you now want to reward them so they continue with their mischief. "
I've never voted for a single one of them. Have you? What state are you voting (or should I say NOT voting in) this year? You do realize that midterm elections are not national elections.
Amen, Wild Rose.
Maybe the Democrats are right. The Republicans are the "stupid party". We seem to be stuck with people who put their one pet issue above country.
For those holier than thou types who think not voting this year is the right thing to do, you're planning to stick a needle in the eye of every military family. That's doesn't sound patriotic, religious or smart. It's stupid beyond belief.
