Pedophile Nation
American Spectator ^ | 10/18/2006 | Ben Stein

Obviously, it's not easy to have a lot of sympathy for Mark Foley. He did some extremely questionable things, and he's being heartily punished for it, with more to come, most likely.

" Unfortunately for you, my power of rational [independent] thought renders me immune to assimilation.

There. You missed a very important word. Otherwise I agree. Leftist Marxist's group-think, and are incapable of independent rationalizing, free people are not.

Re: #13

I know you are just sharing your speculation -- but it certainly is plausible. Television brings non-stop amusement into our living rooms. And with all of our attention on various means of amusement, we've 'deadened' our ability to think and reflect.
One sad effect of this pestilence is that Sundays used to be set aside as a day of Worship (reflection on the Almighty God), but today Sunday is the day that Television has centered its heavy guns meant to appeal to anyone's desire for entertainment: Political Talking Head shows; Professional sports; Movies of the Week; etc... - thus distracting from the central purpose of this day.
So whether its just a deadening of the senses, a disruption of the neuron paths, or distraction from things that are important in life -- we need to be wary about the 'thorns' surrounding our TV sets.

Well, it's always a question of degree, occasion and intention. Ice Capades, Circus Acrobat, Cowgirl --- all this might be dress-up fun for your innocent frisky females.

But there's a big difference between dressing and putting on costume jewelry like a Princess and dreaming of being a Bride, and dressing and moving like a pole-dancer and dreaming of being a porn-star.

Heck, I even wonder about kids mousing about in MySpace. Some of it is just fun. But some of it looks a whole lot like Seduction Rehearsal.

There's nothing wrong with parents banding together to get ahold of (and re-direct) an increasingly toxic "Youth Culture"--- which is not a Youth Culture at all, but an adult-scripted marketing strategy.

Good parents will do everything in their power to protect their children and help them be decent human beings.

This is a little less extreme and more European. If you shop with your wife or girls, or look at fashion magazines (involuntarily), the you'll see the new fashions are covering up a lot more.

There are WAY more little girls being sexually abused that little boys.

I trust you can back up that statement by posting some verifiable facts to support such a conclusion, right?

You can Google as well as I can. Every site I looked at gave different statistics. Most of them said that 1 in 3 girls are sexually abused and 1 in 6 boys are.

I find these numbers too high to be believable.

Another way to look at it is using common sense. Most people agree that homosexuals are only 2% of the population. That means that heterosexuals make up 98% of the population. Does it not stand to reason that the 98% do more than the 2%?

The last credible number I saw was that 867,000 children were sexually abused in the US in 2004. Not only were 78% of those committed by heterosexuals, but according to the statistics - 40% were committed by the child's parents. Another statistic I find very hard to believe.

Little girls are getting dressed by the fashion industry as if they were little hookers.

I must have missed where the fashion industry is giving those clothes directly to little girls and making them dress that way, without their parents actually buying the clothes for them. Seems like a poor business model.

My kids are 13 and 11 and attend the same middle school. My husband and I still have a hold on them, we are in control because we have been in control from jump one. There are no sexy clothes because we don't buy sexy clothes. Sure they hear stuff at school, but it is balanced out by what they hear at home and at church.

I have often wondered if the early pubescence that we have been seeing in young girls isn't b/c of the visual sexual images that children are exposed to...who knows what hormones/neural pathways of the brain are triggered by those images.

It could well be - the average age of puberty was something like 16.5 years a century ago.

Because the parents don't know how to say NO!

Very near our home is a family that dotes on their child to extremes! Gets everything he wants! To the point of driving the parents into financial hardships. I often wonder what adulthood will be like for this one, rarely is anyone home, except to sleep. They must be out on some adventure, always!

I realize there are other causes for the "little mes" and part of that is the sexier they are the sooner, the better sexy they'll be when they're older.

from the article....(and so true)

Much of the whole young people's fashion and magazine industry is about selling kids on the idea that their sexuality is all that matters about them,

I find the term 'pedophile nation' disgusting in any context. My opinion that's all.

100 years ago Americans routinely married in their mid teens.

While it certainly happened, it wasn't the norm.

But I don't know what that has to do with dressing little girls up like streetwalkers.

How true that is. My older ones were so sneaky and would lie their a$$es off until I figured out what they were up to. Thank God I was able to meet a man who took an interest in them and got them straightened out. They weren't too happy for the first few years but now they thank him all the time for being there for them. Our youngest hasn't hit the peer pressure age yet but its coming. And I dread it.

"I was ready to face these things at 12-13. But NOT QUITE 9????"

IIRC, body weight seems to be a factor in sexual maturity (I'm talkin' physical, not mental or emotional!!!)beginning to develop. My daughter had a friend who started bleeding at school, and thought she was going to die. Didn't know what it was. She was 9, but weighed about 110 lbs. My daughter, who was also 9, weighed about 72 lbs then. She told her friend what it was that was happening, and helped her take care of it, then told us after school. We called the grandma, and told her what was happening, and she gave the little girl "the Talk." Her parents are divorced, and the kids are swapping around between their mom, dad, and grandma. Mom and dad are both remarried, too.

My daughter, now 12, is developing now too, but she's still under 80lbs. Her little sister, age 9, is nearly as big as she is. If you've heard the term "bated breath" all you have to do is watch me to see what it looks like, as I wait, with bated breath...

I'm also out looking for a 10ga. 3-1/2" magnum pump shotgun for that talk Dad's give when the young men start sniffing around.
