Teen Questioned for Online Bush Threats
By DON THOMPSON Associated Press Writer
Oct. 14, 2006
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Upset by the war in Iraq, Julia Wilson vented her frustrations with President Bush last spring on her Web page on MySpace.com. She posted a picture of the president, scrawled "Kill Bush" across the top and drew a dagger stabbing his outstretched hand. She later replaced her page on the social-networking site after learning in her eighth-grade history class that such threats are a federal offense.
It was too late.
Federal authorities had found the page and placed Wilson on their checklist. They finally reached her this week in her molecular biology class.
The 14-year-old freshman was taken out of class Wednesday and questioned for about 15 minutes by two Secret Service agents. The incident has upset her parents, who said the agents should have included them when they questioned their daughter.
On Friday, the teenager said the agents' questioning led her to tears.
"I wasn't dangerous. I mean, look at what's (stenciled) on my backpack - it's a heart. I'm a very peace-loving person," said Wilson, an honor student who describes herself as politically passionate. "I'm against the war in Iraq. I'm not going to kill the president."

The Secret Service spends a lot of resources dealing with this kind of crap. They are obligated to investigate every instance that is brought to their attention.
I am quite certain that the girl is lying about how she was treated. I had a coworker who received one of these visits (at work, of course) about three years ago. He told me about it afterward. The agents were polite, but firm, and merely wanted to convince themselves that he posed no real threat to the President.
Of course, the fact that they came to where he worked, and he nearly got fired as a result, made quite an impression. The VP of Human Resources had a fairly lengthly conversation with the agents and the company President had a brief one. They were not pleased.
Why would the parents be upset? The leftist dogma is that at age 14 any girl is mature enough to make a decision such as having an abortion and it is best if the parents don't even know about it. Parents just get in the way and sometimes they get silly ideas about restricting a child's freedom of action. So I would think a little thing like a 15 minute interview would be something the child could more than handle and there is no reason to get the parents involved.
Apparently her school system has stopped teaching that such threats are a "no-no". *insert eye roll*
You make a good point!
Well, <slaps forehead> I guess there's no problem then. We never question people with hearts stenciled on their backpacks. Sorry, Ma'am.
Excellent! Another Leftist Bad Seed.
"The agents were polite, but firm, and merely wanted to convince themselves that he posed no real threat to the President."
In a previous life, I worked closely with the USSS for two years. They were some of the most professional people I've been associated with. They have a hard job and were only doing their job when they questioned this little twit. Kudos to her parents for raising such a fine upstanding citizen. They can be proud....NOT.
I saw that as well on one of our local TV channels
this AM.The little lefty also got in another shot
by saying "GB is an idiot,(shrug)what else is new).
My 76 yr old mom said she`d like to wash her mouth
out with soap.
They should punish this stupid little creep to make an example of her.
No. It would have (did!) happened within an hour or two. Hillary and her husband were in the area at the time visiting Chelsea at Stanford.
NY Times, November 27, 1997. "Secret Service agents search Berkeley apartment of Guy Branun after columnist for student newspaper writes satirical attack on Chelsea Clinton; Branum says column was meant to rally spirit before University of California football game against Stanford, which Chelsea attends. . . ."
I remember that. I was surprised to find how little there is about this on the Net. I searched for "chelsea Branun secret service" It was pretty big news around here (northern Calif) at the time.*
Thinking that google was purging stuff to protect their heroes I looked for, "chicago mendoza clinton 'you suck'"
That was the case where Mr. and Mrs. Mendoza found themselves trapped in a crowd herded by security protecting President Clinton; and when Clinton smiling extended his hand to Mrs. Mendoza she let him know what she thought of his lack of action against terrorists killing our citizens abroad - specifically the bombing in Saudi Arabia that killed 19 of our servicemen. Mrs. Mendoza words were, "You suck! And those boys died."
Needless to say, the Mendozas were arrested and hassled for months and -- as small business owners -- the IRS took great interest in them for years.
Glad to report that google has not yet purged that from their hero president's past. (I guess the Chi-coms haven't instructed the boy billionaires yet.)
*As I recall there was also an incident at the time involving an off-duty secret service agent chasing down another driver because the other driver objectefd to being cutoff and had pointed his finger at the agent and mouthed the word "bang." The agent used his real gun to hold the "bad guy" until the cops got there.
Thanks for reminding me how the Secret Service reacted during the Clinton era. I had forgotten those reports. You would think the AP would mention those past acts.... Nah!
Right, Bush is the idiot. Only he isnt the one threatening the life of a President and getting pulled out of class for an impromptu interrogation by the Secret Service, now is he?
If they want to really punish her, they should make her an intern for Bill Clinton.
The funny thing is her parents were upset with what the Secret Service did but probably aren't the least bit upset with their "darling" little princess for making the threats.
A high school freshman taking molecular biology? B/S.
You and I had similar thoughts on this one. Once upon a time people would be shunned for this kind of stupidity, nowadays, she will probably be known as a hero.
The arrogant, ignorant Left sees Bush as an idiot. Clintoon the "genius" allowed Bin Laden to slip through his fingers time and time again. He regarded Islamic terrorists as a legal problem rather than a military one. He misjudged the severity of the Jihadist threat against our country. Who is the real idiot?
15 minutes of fame...
"15 minutes of fame..."
And (judging on what she apparently wears to school) a lifetime on welfare one she gets herself knocked up sometime next school year...
