2. Liberals believe individuals should be tolerant and respectful of difference. It is liberals who have supported and continue to support the civil rights movement, affirmative action, the Equal Rights Amendment and the rights of gays and lesbians. (snip)

3. Liberals believe individuals have a right and a responsibility to participate in public debate. (snip) the elimination of obstacles to voting; "one person, one vote;" limits on partisan gerrymandering; campaign-finance reform; and a more vibrant freedom of speech.

Freepers, you'll love this hypocritical oped from the Chicago Tribune. Only a pointy head college professor could get lost in a parallel universe. Italics are my comments.

Liberals are for: 1) FREEDOM OF SPEECH despite recent events at Colimbia.

2) PROTECTION OF SECURITY never mind attacks against NSA.

3)ELECTION REFORM no ID's needed and Soros can win with big bucks and GOP cannot refute Foley cover up with ads naming pols within 60 days of election.

The professor is just another overpaid BS artist. If he had any guts he'd come in here and say that himself so the rest of us could dump on him directly.

Anyway, he missed the part where Liberals believe in anti-semitism, particularly in cases where a Jew should "jump the reservation". They also favor genocide involving Christians although they do show some reluctance to allow the Sudanese Islamic dominated government to murder Moslem women and children ~ at least not any more than necessary you know.

It is liberals who support the right to feel good about themselves by touting platitudes and ignoring their obvious hypocrisies.

Consider this an invitation. Are these propositions meaningful? Are they helpful? Are they simply wrong? As a liberal, how would you change them or modify the list? As a conservative, how would you draft a similar list for conservatives?

How about we just take apart your list for the hypocrisy and falsehoods it contains?

This is a fundamental difference between liberals and conservatives. Liberals actually believe that there are an infinite number of "truths" and they are all equally valid. Conservatives understand that the word "truth" does not allow for interpretation. I'm not talking about religion, specifically. I'm talking about a general, objective interpretation of a fact.

Bill Clinton's "truth" was that he didn't have sex with that woman. Conservatives have a word for that sort of truth. We call it a lie.
