He says he is not saying it was not a prank but later in the interview, CNN pressed him on that. Yes, there really is a bias against people who join one day and become really active on a thread that same day.

The reason for this is: they usually are trolls!

However, as you say, everyone has to join sometime; but if you want to be accepted, probably you should keep a low profile and make only non-controversial comments for a few weeks.

I learned this the hard way!
