Three more former congressional pages have come forward to reveal what they call "sexual approaches" over the Internet from former Congressman Mark Foley.
The pages served in the classes of 1998, 2000 and 2002. They independently approached ABC News after the Foley resignation through the Brian Ross & the Investigative Team's tip line on ABCNews.com. None wanted their names used because of the sensitive nature of the communications.
"I was seventeen years old and just returned to [my home state] when Foley began to e-mail me, asking if I had ever seen my page roommates naked and how big their penises were," said the page in the 2002 class.
The former page also said Foley told him that if he happened to be in Washington, D.C., he could stay at Foley's home if he "would engage in oral sex" with Foley.
THE BLOTTER RECOMMENDS READER DISCRETION STRONGLY ADVISED: Foley's Exchange with Underage Page Foley Instant Message Chat While Waiting for a House Vote Click Here to Watch This Week's Brian Ross Investigates Webcast The page told ABC News he was interviewed this week by FBI agents who had a six-page list of questions about Foley and the exchanges.
The second page who talked with ABC News, a graduate of the 2000 page class, says Foley actually visited the old page dorm and offered rides to events in his BMW.
"His e-mails developed into sexually explicit conversations, and he asked me for photographs of my erect penis," the former page said.
The page said Foley maintained e-mail contact with him even after he started college and arranged a sexual liaison after the page had turned 18.
The third page interviewed by ABC News, a graduate of the 1998 page class, said Foley's instant messages began while he was a senior in high school.
"Foley would say he was sitting in his boxers and ask what I was wearing," the page said.
"It became more weird, and I stopped responding," the page said.
All three pages described similar instant message and e-mail patterns, with remarkably similar escalations of provocative questions.
"He didn't want to talk about politics," the page said. "He wanted to talk about sex or my penis," the page said.
The three new verbal accounts are in addition to two sets of sexually explicit instant messages provided to ABC News by former pages.
An online story on the Drudge Report Thursday claimed one set of the sexually explicit instant messages obtained by ABC News was part of a "prank" on the part of the former page, who reportedly says he goaded the congressman into writing the messages.
"This was no prank," said one of the three former pages who talked to ABC News today about his experience with the congressman.
I would bet just hearsay. The longer ABC tries to prop-up this story, the more flimsy it will become.
ABC and those on the left who support their tactics are pure evil. Only evil people do this kind of thing. I'll tell you one thing. This little game of theirs has backfired. It's energized me more than ever for the upcoming election.
The DNC has shifted into invent-a-page overdrive.
They'll crank out as many anonymous pages as the MSM requires.
They went on to other world news and I changed the channel. I've just switched back, and they are still on World news. Coming up is an interview with GHWB BTW....
It's possible I missed something but I doubt it.
Surely some other freeper watched ABC NEWS TONIGHT, or has it tivoed?
I believe that foley used his computer and AOL account and did not use govt. computers or e-mail system.
Darn, wish I had some torpedos to lob at that sinking ship! The "anonymous source" angle is a loser any time.
Who's hanging Foley without any proof? Seems to me he hung himself with his own rope. You don't resign, check into an alcohol rehab program, allege you were abused by a Catholic priest and admit you have a problem with inappropriate sexual behaviour if you're innocent.
Being gay wasn't the crime.
No, I am assuming that other Congressmen knew that Foley was the sort of person who would write such e-mails. Evidently the pages who were involved in the "prank" knew that. Surely the man's colleagues knew it as well.
ROFL!!
So if this is "breaking" news ABC trusts is reliable, why not break it on their own network with their pulitzer prize to be reporter? Unless they have no confidence in him or this new report. Unless they want to wait a day and see if this sells or not.
The omission of this "breaking news" on their nightly newscast tell me we're right to be questioning this account.
With your nickname discussing cybersex, I think it is kinda wrong. You chose the name. I just would rather not see W. discussing cyber sex is all.
Hhmmm...
Wouldn't you think- if these three new guys who popped up were legit...that Brian Ross would be all OVER it on tonight's news?
Curiouser and curiouser...
This gets sicker all of the time.
Losers usually pick losing strategies, thank goodness.
Um, so was this kid still talking to him about these things? It sounds like he stayed online to chat.
Kind of seems like we're all being played for better internet traffic to ABC News/Malkin/Drudge's web sites?
Agreed.
Fortunately most of us are calling ABC on their emulation of Rather.
I know. ABC has shown what it's all about by not reporting any mitigating information around this story. They're determined to sink the GOP if they can with this story, the facts be damned. I haven't heard hardly anyone reporting on the fact this page was 18. Foley still showed poor judgement and acted sleazy, but if the kid was 18 and was soliciting these remarks as his friends are saying then that puts this story in a whole other league. It then doesn't rise to any level beyond "Ewww ick" and then looking away. It doesn't rise to the level of nearly a week's media feeding frenzy while we have an organized movement in the world out to kill Americans anywhere, any time regardless of whether they're civilians.
