CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**

According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.

According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.

The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.

The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.

The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

I have seen posts that describe the differences between e-mail messages and IM logs in an effort to refute the shrill calls from Senators in the Democratic party for Speaker Hastert to step down.

These have NOT been defenses of former Representative Foley.

I have seen examination of time stamps and birth dates in refutation of weak charges of criminality.

I have not seen anyone declare that they have no problem with homos in general or Foley in particular recruiting our young people.

ABC has posted the PDF of an e-mail sent by the original page in all this — the one Foley asked for a picture — to Danielle Savoy, a member of Rodney Alexander’s staff, in August 2005. (The page had worked for Alexander.) Savoy failed to act at the time. Note the printout date at the bottom, though: October 17, 2005. The same date as the printouts of other e-mail exchanges that were posted by CREW. Clearly ABC and CREW are getting these from the source.

CNN: PAGE LAWYER DOES NOT RULE 'IN OR OUT' PRANK CLAIM... DEVELOPING... Former congressional page Jordan Edmund's lawyer Stephen Jones... BLITZER: He will join us live in the next hour. What are you hearing, Brian, about some of these Internet suggestions, some Republicans suggesting this whole thing is a prank, a hoax and there is no there, there.

CNN REPORTER: "We asked him about that item in the DRUDGE REPORT. He said very clearly he cannot rule that in, he cannot rule that out. He says he is not saying it was not a prank but later in the interview, CNN pressed him on that. He said that he -- he does not read the DRUDGE REPORT, not part of his regular reading and, quote, it sounds like a piece of fiction...

BLITZER: He says the DRUDGE REPORT item sounds like a piece of fiction?

CNN REPORTER: He did say that, but important to note he says he is not ruling it in or out.

"Also important to note that abc news says its sources indicate the drudge report that their report this is a hoax is not true."

Could you rephrase this sentance. It does not make sense.

GOP criticism of Hastert mounts

Source: AP

WASHINGTON -- Even though some leading Republicans including President Bush are rallying behind embattled House Speaker Dennis Hastert, the calls for his resignation from within his own party haven't stopped.
New Jersey's Republican Senate candidate Tom Kean Jr., said Hastert should give up his leadership post.

"He is the head of that institution, and this happened on his watch," a Kean spokesman said.

Hastert has consistently vowed not to resign amid accusations that he knew about at least some of Mark Foley's contacts with teen-aged pages but did nothing about it.

Among those coming to Hastert's defense today is former Secretary of State James Baker who told CBS that Hastert deserves credit for calling for a probe of the scandal even as the mid-term elections approach.

Baker said if Hastert is forced to step down, there will simply be more calls for other Republican leaders to go.

Bush called Hastert Thursday night to reassure him, and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist issued a statement of support.

Edmund's lawyer is doing a little house cleaning with his website cleansing activities. It is just how they do it. When the light of truth moves on their DemonRAT droppings, they start sweeping things under the rug.

Two Versions Of The Foley Emails, And One Fake

Well, it seems CREW and ABC News are pleading to the public for understanding by now releasing versions of the Foley emails. And they are not the same versions. The content is the same, but there are some interesting differences. Here is the CREW version (I tore apart in this previous post) and here is the ABC News-Blotter version.

Something to note is these are both from a single source printed out on 9/13/05. However, in the CREW version we see gPage X of 1 in the upper right hand corner, which is blotted out in most cases by the Facsimile time page numbering. The highest number is e9 of 1Œ which means the Fax was over ten pages. We do not see all 9 pages, we see only 4 of them. These gPage of Xh headings are not in the ABC News version. Still pondering what that means.

Clearly these are supposed to be forwarded by the LA Page to the Staffer which was apparent in the CREW leading email on August 31, 2005 (link above).

Looking at the first email heading (supposedly from the LA Page to the House Staffer) the redactions are not identical. The gfromh line in the ABC News email is clearly there and being redacted by ABC News. But the fact both CREW and ABC News have the same redactions for the rest of the header means those redactions are much earlier and from the common source (either that or ABC News shared its version with CREW, which then added more redactions).

This is interesting because the next email heading we see is the one from Foley to the page. ABC News is trying to blot out the AOL domain name, but both versions use different redactions for the Pagefs efromf field. This means both CREW and ABC News knew who the potential victim was! And did they pass that onto to the FBI? Did CREW give the copies to the FBI they have on their site with the Pagefs details blacked out? We shall see.

One thing is clear. The DemonRATs discovered that their efforts to squelch discussion on the issues has got them out on a limb with the personal destruction play book in their hands. The confusing thing for me is I am hearing these strange cracking sounds.

Look out below!

Looks like Edmund's lawyer will be yanking all the website reporting on the non-scandal.

Well, now we know why Edmund got all lawyered up.

US: Fleeting online posting lets blogger find Foley's message partner

Blogger went on 'computer detective mission' to find the name of congressional page from ABC News website

South China Morning Post
Friday, October 6, 2006

ABC News' fleeting, inadvertent publishing of a computer screen name enabled a blogger to track down and make public the identity of a former congressional page who traded salacious messages with disgraced former Representative Mark Foley.

In breaking the story of the now-burgeoning scandal, the network last Friday posted on its website a series of instant message exchanges between Mr Foley and the teenager, Jordan Edmund, now 21. Mr Edmund's name was not included.

But in one exchange the network inadvertently left his screen name on. It was quickly discovered and removed, replaced by a version with the name redacted. But a blogger was able to retrieve the deleted file, go on a computer detective mission and uncover the former page's identity.

Mr Edmund, who now works on Republican Representative Ernest Istook's campaign for Oklahoma governor, has not responded to requests for an interview.

Attorney Stephen Jones said he is representing Mr Edmund in matters related to his work as a page, a congressional intern, and in reference to Mr Foley.

In a news conference on Thursday, Mr Istook praised his employee, said the former page would co-operate with investigators and asked reporters to leave him alone.

"This is a young man who is bright," Mr Istook said. "He is hard working. He does not deserve the public embarrassment that he's facing right now.

"I believe there is no justification for putting this young man in the national media spotlight when what he needs and deserves is Christian compassion," he added.

The blogger -- known as "Wild Bill" from the Passionate America site -- who discovered the former page's identity describes the computer detective mission in detail on his website. ABC had taken additional steps to make sure no one can access the deleted messages, a spokesman said.

"To be clear, no one visiting our website would have simply stumbled on the old version," ABC News spokesman Jeffrey Schneider said.

South China Morning Post, I love it.

Is ABC now insinuating that its site was hacked?

We have to keep our wits about this matter because if we don't Nancy Pelosi will be two heartbeats away from the presidency. That is the most frightening aspect of this whole sordid mess.
