CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

I went back and looked for the link.

Don't be so sure.
I wouldn't be surprised because from looking at the way Istook conducted his press conference, I would say he is steamed.
One article from the Oklahoman was changed when it was quoting Chris Wilson about Englander. He originally said he was a well known campaign manager and when asked for what campaign he couldn't answer but that paragraph is now missing from the article.
I happened to post it on here with the complete article. Istook must be furious for the paper to have that paragraph changed.
Trust me! Compared to what I have run up against here in Oklahoma, they make sense. Have never witnessed more inept campaign people in my whole life!
Between this, Libby and Duke
What can I say, I gotta get a life!
Nite all!
Night! I am headed for bed as well!
It's 'plague on both your houses' time. Stupid and stupider. And these people purport to govern us? What a crock.
Good find. But this whole topic disgusts me. I did a search on the term, and it's just more than I want to know.
While most people on FR are approaching this subject from a legal point of view (which is a big surprise) - "the kid was of legal age, blah blah blah" - I would rather think of Foley as someone in a position of power who abused that power. He was a congressman; the boy was a page. There's the difference of stature. The difference of age. The matter of ethics. The matter of rules of conduct. Etc. Nobody is giving any consideration to these other factors. All they can say is, the boy was of legal age, so where's the crime? That is extremely short-sighted.
Well, imagine that - your first. ;^)
BTW, are you male or female? LOL

Speaking of CREW, it doesn't hurt to recite some facts about their members.
from a poster at Captain's Ed's..

Exerpt-
Well, CREW was the one that first provided copies of the e-mails that led to the resignation of Mark Foley. And Ms. Sloan just happens to be the Executive Director of CREW. So, you ask...
Before she was CREW's top dog, here's her resume:
1998 - 2003: Assistant United States Attorney, District of Columbia
1995 - 1998: Minority Counsel for the U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee with John Conyers
1994: Counsel for the Crime Subcommittee of the House Judiciary Committee for Charles Schumer
1993: Nominations Counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee under Joe Biden
Quite a nice inventory of Dem associates this leading member of DRW has to their resume.
Me- And apparently this busy little group was seeking all known records of visits paid to the W.H. by prominent Christian leaders.
Which plays nicely into this...
http://releases.usnewswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=73665
Exerpt from usnewswire- Mike Rogers, the leading gay activist who has been reporting on his blog for over a year about former Congressman Mark Foley's closeted gay lifestyle, today offered to join with prominent leaders of the Christian right in calling for House Speaker Dennis Hastert to resign his leadership post for failing to act when informed of Foley's sexual advances to male pages in Congress.
In a letter today to James Dobson of Focus on the Family, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, and Rev. Lou Sheldon of the Traditional Values Coalition, Rogers says, "For once, gentlemen, we might have something in common and an opportunity to work together to clean up Congress."
Me again- So, let's review.
CREW, with strong associations to many prominent Dems was seeking every gathered record they could obtain about Christian leaders with contact to the W.H. Rogers, the one about Washington threatening to out all gay GOP politicians, also displayed an interest in prominent Christian leaders and wished them to join him to remove Hastert. Two strong Liberal activists separately both have the same target in mind...Christian evangelicals...we all know their intention being to suppress the evangelical right's vote. But you tie in one keeping close ties on these leader's actions, with one seeking to recruit their efforts to oust the Speaker of the House, and you add in Crew's Executive Directer that is tied to Biden, Conyers, and Chuckie...safe to deduce those three may have some questions they'd like to answer? Say, along the lines of co-ordinating with these two to remove the Speaker of the House by using Foley and these evangelical leaders as the means?
Am I completely off base with my train of thought in #2798?
It's late. :-)
No, you most certainly are not.
Some of those names should set off bells and whistles for every member of this party.
Besides, a lof of us do our "best" work when we're loopy!
