According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

Why don't you run along and when you've grown up and learned how to respect your elders and are able to carry on an intellectual conversation come back and maybe someone will consider debating with you.
Actually, he's not doing too bad for a high school kid. He's discussed and debated political issues fairly well.
Oh, one other thing... you say this is a political forum, and that is true. But anyone can look at latest threads and find stories about tyrannosaurus rex bones, "cloud people," the Cotton Bowl, stinky feet, 83 year old meth smugglers, Roman mosaics, and God know what else that isn't purely political.
The kid's big crime was to jump into a fast-moving and politically charged thread with youthful exuberance and typical teenaged boy writing style and PO'ing a grand dame or two by a flippant comment, not uncommon in teenagers.
He appears to be fairly intelligent. He composes his sentences well, his spelling is pretty darned good, and he apologizes when he makes mistakes.

He was too surprised and pleased with himself to have been 'in' on it.
I listen to him everyday although not live and I saw the Drudge headline before I logged onto his site to listen to todays show and to me his surprising reaction was a case of over acting. But then that's just my opinion.

If you're what a large number of legitimate freepers think you are, then "this Foley thing" WILL cost you the House..........which you don't have in the first place, of course.......since it's in the hands of 'us' Republicans.

I still want to know who is paying Stephen Jones, the very expensive DEMOCRAT defense lawyer that Edmonds hired. If we find out who is paying, we will find out who is behind this.
I agree with your take. I think he is very intelligent but got in over his head on this thread. Hard to track what is going as it was. First I thought he was an older lady, then a young girl, and then I found the post which was very well written about the Rudy visit.
He could learn a lot on here and also add to the discussion.
