CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.
Developing...
I am jumping in here (trying so hard to catch up). Not ranting at you, just ranting in general, LOL!
As far as I am concerned Foley's situation is irrelevant at this moment, except it was the match that lit the dynamite.
Foley is gay (Not a surprise and who cares?) As I stated earlier I do not care who he sleeps with as long as it is a consenting adult.
I have more important things to deal with in my life to waste time worrying about who he sleeps with.
He resigned when the emails came to light and rightly so.
He put himself in the position to be duped (if true) by the IM's to the 18 year old.
As far as the emails to the 16 year old are concerned, very inappropriate, but not illegal. As a parent, I do understand the request to have someone deal with it, and even understand the request that it go no further.
1. What parent would want to put their 16 year old son through this feeding frenzy
and
2. What else could be done? No law was broken. No sexual advances were made. If they wanted it to go further, based on what we know, they may very well have been told legally, there was nothing to be done. Hastert handled it.
"Hmmm...I don't know, what do you think?"
No clue...that's a huge screwup, but then again...we're not dealing with rocket scientists here...
"I don't know IF the world will be a better place because Mr. Foley left. The world would be a better place if the evil democrat souls were gone. Right?"
Yes, but you know what, let me take that back. Obviously, if this Foley thing costs us the House, then the world clearly isn't a better place. I think the jury is probably still out on what impact he will have.
FOX is probably paying penance to His Raunchiness, bill clinton, for asking that *ahem* embarrassing question about national security. He'll let them know when they can get off their knees. 123 posted on 10/05/2006 10:42:59 PM EDT by madison10
LOL!
Just count to 10 and stay clam
:-)
If the Dems win the house:
1. NSA won't be tracking terrorist e-communications.
2. The will have plenty of time and resources to protect the children from politicians and track all House members e-communications.
Right.
Foxnews is so obsessed with this stupid motto of theirs Fair and Balance that they have to lie on behalf of the democrats just to tell them see, we are not a conservative network. After Clinton exploded like a fool 10 days ago on Foxnews and the accusation that were directed at Foxnews that they are a conservative network, Foxnews is doing their best to lie and beat up on republicans to show the democrats that they are not conservative but rather fair and balance. This happened so many times before with Foxews, it is so obvious and so stupid.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
Nuff said.
We had decided this election to just support individual candidates, but this has made us just plain MAD.
(Even our mealy mouthed DeWine has picked up support. :)
The Dems are going to rue the day they started this slime machine. The base is not ON FIRE!
Welcome; two of us just made it up tonight, on this thread, because we are sick to death of it being done. :-)
And it wasn't very much later that he found out about Drudge and he was genuinely surprised and VERY proud of himself, I might add.
Do you mean of Hastert?
Great question. I've been asking the same thing. There seems to be an unspoken taboo in the TV media against attributing ANYTHING to Matt Drudge, probably because they don't want to acknowledge that a guy operating solo can do what they do AND BETTER. It's a snob thing that even applies to Foxnews.
What your advocating the Rep leadership do is against the law. Their hands are tied.
Of course... Rove, You Magnificient Bastard.
I thought Drudge was a fox news contributor--or at least he used to be?
