CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.
Developing...
I've rediscovered old movies....I mean...1930's old....(better than FOX!)
..there are some amazingly good old movies
Maybe it warrants a poll on the frontpage sidebar. LOL
LOL! Greta is manly and smart!!! He doesn't have to work hard. Heck, Greta is more manly than some men I know!
Major Garrett got on my nerves today with that stupid report about Hastert and the GOP poll.
You're welcome. I only knew because I had to look it up yesterday!
I too am shocked by the discord here especially WRT pedophile or not. It almost seems as if the divergent viewpoints must be based on two separate sets of facts...go figure.
There are over 2500 posts.
Yes, some heated exchanges but as someone that has been here throughout most of it let me assure you the bulk has not been spent tearing ourselves apart. :-)
Maybe if I ran a thread and people listed what they were watching, Fox would get a clue.
I haven't seen anything yet even on Fox. Sean Hannity did mention last night that the page was 18....but..nothing on the prank aspect that came out today.
I turned it off this afternoon...after Shep repeated for the upteenth time exactly what you said...
I am avoiding the news too!!!
We are watching British comedies,,I love them. We are even getting subtitled films from netflix,,a treasure trove.
I hate the news. I hate all the networks. Lately all I read is the WSJ editorial page and the weekend journal. Politics has worn me out and I am a junkie so I imagine the average guy is sick of it more than I.
You are now being Clintonian and weaseling wildly. We all, especially I, know what you posted and the intent of the post. You've painted yourself in a tight little corner now. LOL
You want the post #? Give me a couple of minutes kid and when I come back with it...get off FR for the night.
I see, but Jordan Edmund and his associates didn't have any trouble keeping the little joke a secret, while Hastert and the GOP in the House and the Senate were going down in flames. Nor did they have a problem keeping this joke a secret as long as Jordan's name was kept under wraps.
But since Jordan's name and pictures have been made public, all of a sudden (because of his own concern for his political career,) he and his associates remembered it was all just a joke. As they said, if by mistake this prank got into the hands of enemy political operatives, why didn't they come forward in defense of Foley when they knew about the enormous consequences their silence was creating? They didn't have a problem coming forward now, so why not sooner?
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
LOL! If there were more dirty IM's out there you can bet that our sweet hack Brian Ross would've reported them by now. However, the objective here by our diligent media is to keep the confusion, disinformation, and speculation going.
As to why Foley resigned and didn't stay and fight.... the answer is simple... Republicans are decent enough to step down when a scandal breaks out and when they feel they are hurting the Party. A corrupt Democrat caught in a scandal not only stays in power but his Party supports him, and he/she gets reelected over and over again.
The Rats are saying tonight that no one has been found accountable. In fact they are wrong: Foley has been held accountable. He resigned didn't he? Nah, they don't care about Foley, who is ultimately responsible for his own actions. They want Hastert to resign because they know full well that Hastert's resignation will be the end of the GOP in congress.
Should Hastert resign over a joke? Now, that's funny!
I'm saying this to the media... this time you are NOT getting away with it, because we are mad as hell and we are not going to take it anymore.
Hell, even I, a mother of 3 & grandmother of 1, up here in Cumming (North Forsyth to be exact-- where everyone from South Forsyth thinks no resident has more brain cells than teeth-not to exceed 2, LOL) know more about this than MSM.
Good Lord man. Gummy bears and chianti, gummy bears and port. Dark chocolate and scotch!
I think there are two cultures at FR, just like the republican party. Always calling each other names. Like a family where half the family fights with the other half. I do hate it when we insult each other. Especially when we accuse each other. But it is amusing to watch at times.
I suppose you think the parents should shoulder no responsibility like restricting their sons time on the computer etc.,
The tides will turn.
