According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

Many years ago, in the fifties, my sister who was 16 was a page at the Louisiana legislature. She came home one night and told of the Speaker of the House chasing her around his desk. My father who was an old politician laughed,,he told her not to be alone around him. It was apparently well known that old legislators chased the young pages. And that was in 1957 I do believe.

INVESTIGATE WHAT?!?! A rumor that Foley was gay? The knowledge that Foley was gay, but could do NOTHING due to legal issues? There couldn't BE any action, don't you get that? Not legally. The whole mess is sorting out, but getting all the facts wrong and demanding the impossible doesn't help anything.
I've been on FR from almost its beginning. If my posts weren't up to snuff, I wouldn't have lasted this long. People here demand a certain level of performance; can't keep up? You will be continually called on your posts. And FYI...don't plan on being here all that long.
I don't expect EVERYONE to agree with 100% of the time, but, when they don't, they'd better have facts to back them up. All you've had are your "feelings"; kid.

I think I read it here. He is the House Clerk I do believe. It was posted he was open about his being gay. Nothing else said. But I wondered if he hired pages.
I won't be convinced until the toe sucker chimes in on this :o)
§ 8.04.3 Tampering with evidence
(A) A person commits the offense of tampering with evidence if the person knows that an official proceeding is proceeding or will occur and uses a computer to commit the following acts:
(1) Creates, destroys, mutilates, removes or modifies data, programs or any other form of supporting documentation residing in or existing in a computer, computer system, computer network, or;
(2) (2)Creates, destroys, mutilates, removes or modifies data, programs or any other form of supporting documentation existing outside of a computer, computer system, computer network, or;
(3) Activates an existing program, installs or downloads a program that is designed to create, destroy, mutilate, remove or modify data, programs or any other form of supporting documentation existing within or outside of a computer, computer system, computer network, or;
(4) Creates, alters, destroys a password, personal identification number or any other identification devices used to access a computer, computer system or computer network with the purpose of preventing access to data, programs or any other form of documentation found within a computer, computer system, or computer network, or;
(5) Inhibits an individual, who has a legal right to have access to a computer, computer system or computer network, from gaining access to data, programs or any other form of documentation found within a computer, computer system, or computer network with the intent to purposely prevent the individual(s) from obtaining information.
(B) A person convicted under this statute is guilty of a third degree felony as listed under Section 1.05 (B)(a)(3) of this Code.

FOX is essentially repeating a "breaking" story ABC didn't have the guts to run with tonight, which doesn't say much to their intelligence. They've been played by ABC, used to dessiminate information that has not been substantiated, and meanwhile ABC doesn't have to do it before their largest audience at night retaining whatever shred of credibility they have left.
Now, if it were my network I'd be pretty steamed my "journalists" started to scamper back and forth repeating another network's salicious hearsay.
It's not my network.
But I am not watching it either, so that is one less viewer.
Meanwhile I'd like to know the "staffer" on the redacted E-mails CREW handled over.

I only scrolled back a few hundred posts, as I left off around 1000 or so and couldn't catch up, but I saw enough hostility being thrown around to warrant my response. I didn't catch ALL the names but I saw more than two, or I wouldn't have said anything.
I just watched Divine Design on HGTV. I love Candace and her guys! She is the only designer I would EVER let have free reign over my house.
Probably not and I've been saying that HITLERY! would NOT enter the Dem presidential primary; let alone win it.
