CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**

According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.

According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.

The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.

The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.

The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

I don't see this story gaining any traction on the news networks, not even Fox.

I think this one's pretty much played out. Time for the next story. Perhaps next week we'll have another "Osama's dead" rumor or something.

Rogers: Disgraced Ex-Congressman Foley Caught Logging Online Tuesday While Supposedly in Alcohol Rehab

10/4/2006 6:30:00 AM

To: National Desk

Contact: Susan Roth, 301-530-3539

WASHINGTON, Oct. 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Mark Foley, who resigned from Congress Friday for using the Internet to solicit underage male pages for sex, was apparently online Tuesday under his notorious Maf54 screen name at a time when he is supposedly in alcohol rehab.

Mike Rogers, the leading gay activist who has been reporting on his blog for over a year about former Congressman Foley's closeted gay lifestyle, was interviewed last night on Fox News Channel's 6 p.m. broadcast with Brit Hume. Rogers stated that, once the scandal broke, he had added Foley's Maf54 screen name to his buddy list on America Online's Instant Messaging service. Rogers said Foley's screen name popped up as being online for two or three minutes before it was logged off again at 9:21 a.m. Tuesday. That is the same AIM account that Foley allegedly used to have Internet sex with a teen while the House was voting.

House leaders were unable or unwilling to stop Foley's persistent conduct for over a year once they became aware of it, and failed to report it to law enforcement authorities. Foley announced Monday that he was entering alcohol rehab. On Tuesday his attorney acknowledged that Foley is gay, as Rogers reported on his blog a year and a half ago in stating that Foley was being hypocritical by voting for anti-gay measures in Congress such as the Defense of Marriage Act, and failing to oppose a measure in Congress that penalized gay scouting leaders.

Also on Tuesday, Rogers offered to join with prominent leaders of the Christian right in calling for House Speaker Dennis Hastert to resign his leadership post for failing to act when informed of Foley's sexual advances to House pages. In a letter to James Dobson of Focus on the Family, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, and Rev. Lou Sheldon of the Traditional Values Coalition, Rogers wrote, "For once, gentlemen, we might have something in common and an opportunity to work together to clean up Congress." Full text of the letter may be seen at http://www.proudofwhoweare.org .

Rogers' comments were also included in ABC News coverage this week, and in an article in Saturday's Miami Herald (see www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/15643524.htm ). He may be reached at 202-588-9446, or by emailing mrogers@proudofwhoweare.org

You think that you're clever...don't you. You aren't. Foley was a REPRESENTATIVE; he no longer is. It is BOTH Houses, that combined, make up CONGRESS.

Sorry, but dictionary dot com has this for Congressman...

A man who is a member of the U.S. Congress, especially of the House of Representatives.

My guess is that someone turned on one of his computers which automatically logged him on to the AIM address.

You can get a lot of this story at the front page of The Oklahoman at http://www.oklahoman.com -- here is the latest story and it also has Istook's press conference:

Ex-page willing to cooperate

By Nolan Clay
Staff Writer

A former page is willing to talk about former Congressman Mark Foley with the FBI and any House committee that investigates the allegations, his attorney said today.
Jordan Edmund, 21, has been working on the gubernatorial campaign of Congressman Ernest Istook. Edmund on Wednesday hired Enid attorney Stephen Jones.

"Jordan was a minor when the alleged events described in the media occurred," Jones said. "He retained me ... to guide and assist him through a difficult investigative and media onslaught because he thought I might be able to help him. Jordan has authorized me to say that if he has any relevant information on the matters involving Congressman Foley he will voluntarily present it to any appropriate official authority."

Jones has experience with high-profile cases. He defended Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh.

Jones confirmed he has been in contact with the FBI and that Edmund has left Oklahoma. He said he is not being paid by the Istook campaign.

"I have to finish my chicken and dumplings for supper."

One of my favorite dinners. My Grandmother made the world's best, my wife the second best and my mother and her older sister tied for third. I have gotten pretty good at it in the crock pots.

On my Weber tonight: Barbeque chicken with fast baked potatoes (4 minutes in the micro wave, split and coated with olive oil, salt and pepper, fresh pepper and mushroom shiskibobs. With a 4 inch white peach halved and grilled with olive oil and cinammon and sugar, and fresh lettuce salad with fresh heirlom tomatoes and basil snipped a minute before going on the tomatoes.

Jones just said in an article I read at The Oklahoman (http://www.oklahoman.com) that former page has left Oklahoma and that he is not being paid by Istook.

You have to be one or the other.

Riiiiight.

MY OPINION...

That, and $1.25 will buy you a cup of coffee.

I'm so damn sick of some of you screaming troll. It's ALWAYS your last line of defense.

How many of our leaders do you want to kick down and or kick out at the plan of the Democrats??

They're destroying them selves without any help form the voters.

Yeah, I'm sending naughty emails and IM to pages. Yeah, I'm taking money on the side. Yeah, I'm making under the table deals that sells out the party till it gets to the point you can't tell one corrupt politician from another. Direct you hostility where it belongs, our elected officials. Or, kiss my ass, either one I don't care. Grow up.

No one said it was OK..It just isn't illegal! Gee..Keep up with the difference between what are facts and what are emotions or feelings!
There was no ..EVIDENCE... of this kind of sexual internet talk with FORMER pages before LAST FRIDAY known to the Republican leadership in order to have him resign!

Foley is creepy and I would not wish him in the Congress or having contact with my teenage son..He makes me sick but I try to keep my facts and my feelings straight about this matter..

I remember that part, but I thought I read not too long ago an article that quoted Flynt in which Flynt said he never had any evidence, it was a bluff.

Wow! I did not know that!

Look kid, not only are you a kid, but your a VERY new newbie here. You don't know nearly as much as you imagine you do, you ARE very much out of your depths ( FR is FOR adults; though it does a wee section for teens, where you should go hang out ), and enough people here now have your number and they aren't agreeing with you.

If my posts weren't any good, I wouldn't have lasted on FR this long.

Go get your mommy to pay for several tutors...you need them. I'm not going to help you for free.

Your reading comprehension skills stink; as does your abject lack of logical thought process.

How old are you? Come on, fess up...12?
