CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

I'm sticking to the blogs/radio/this board.
FOX, if it ever decides to produce the truth, won't catch up for a week anyway.

You have two people bashing Hastert right off the bat. They've only been here a couple of years ~ "sleeper trolls". THe moderators may have busted one of them already.
No one here does, I hope. He is a deviant of the most disgusting sort. But just think what kind of a person this Edmund must be, which is an entirely different issue. What a sleazy fellow he is. He may have done this for his and others amusement and he may have saved the IMs to blackmail Foley when it became convenient, or for some other nefarious purpose. A total creep, just a different kind than Foley.
Nope.
Friday afternoon surprise.
Foley was goaded into writing the IMs. I think he didn't know it was a prank and he really thought that he was chatting to a former page who was legitimately interested in him. The former page set him up. Regardless, Foley thought that he was chatting with an interested young man. He wasn't involved in the prank; he was the subject of the prank. Even if he was goaded by the young man, Foley is still guilty because he thought that he was having an inappropriate conversation with a minor.
They are jumping off tall buildings as we speak.
Rove needs to grab Roger Ailes by the NECK and tell him to start fighting the Networks or Rove will make sure FOX ratings will dump even lower.
Wolf Blitzer just did a "breaking news" segment on Foleygate. His investigating reporter mentioned that ABC News had exposed the screen name of Foley's chat partner, after which "SEVERAL NEWS SOURCES, INCLUDING CNN DISCOVERED THE IDENTITY OF THE PAGE" Talk about poker faced lying.
Regards, Ivan
I don't think ANYONE is interested in protecting Foley. The focus, as I see it here, is in finding out what kinds of dirty tricks were played for the sake of politics in the month before an election.
I hate it when real life impinges on freeping time. ;OD
I too stepped out of a meeting and into my car to find out about the Drudge "prank" story.
I wonder if Ingraham will repeat her Pelosi-sock-puppet routine tomorrow morning...
Novak is a CNN "Republican" that let the administration twist for what Armitage/Powell did in alliance with the Libs in the state department.
He's absolutely worthless.
Do you have e-mail addresses? I am ready!!
It's the narcissism.
After consultation with his very high dollar lawyer, on his way to rehab for his "problem", whatever it will be said to be.
Forget the new spin, he's gay.
All those beautiful girl photos on his home page? Right out of the Truman Capote handbook. In more ways then one.
Why, the MSM will never pick up on this, nor did they on the fact that the page was over 18 when the lurid IM's were sent.
One radio talk show host today, kept saying "He's 18 now" Sheesh, they can't get it right, unless it benefits the DIMS!
