I don't think so--if schools need that kind of protection then they need trained, armed security people in the school who know how to handle a weapon and a confrontational situation--to arm teachers--this is not a good answer. They have enough to handle without target practice too.

Where's the "Hell Yeah!" button"? "Feel good" (pandering whores) legislation turned schools into "Target Rich Environments"... What friggin moron thought of that policy?... boggles the mind sometimes doesn't it.

I voted yes.

Schools should have trained, armed, and ANONYMOUS adults throughout the school. The perp should have to guess if the librarian, janitor, band teacher, or whoever else is on campus has a gun and will shoot your ass dead if you go on a rampage. Uniformed security guards are vulnerable because the perp knows who he has to kill first and then everybody else is defenseless.

The principal and maybe assistant principal should be the only ones who know who the carriers are. There should be standards to be met, plus the principal should be able to withhold or pull their "clearance" at his discretion.

That's the kind of school that I would want my children to go to.

Yes 51% No 49% This is within the margin of error of +/- 4 points. So, it's a wash.

Having worked in public education for the past 11 years, my opinion is a resounding NO.

If there is a need for someone with a weapon to be on a school campus, then we need to have people trained in Law Enforcement to provide that. There are way too many teachers who engage in questionable behavior to be even considering arming teachers.
