A posting of an unredacted instant message sessions between Rep. Mark Foley and a former congressional page has apparently exposed the identity of the now 21 year-old accuser...
ABC RELEASED TRANSCRIPT OF ONE CHAT BETWEEN FOLEY AND A MAN WHO WAS 18 AT THE TIME OF THE INSTANT MESSAGE EXCHANGE.... NETWORK STATED THE MESSAGE WAS TO 'UNDER AGE' TEEN... DEVELOPING...

"What a contrast between the parties."
The Republicans and Democrats are essentially the same.
The GOP leadership kicked Foley because his action were contrary to the moral values of the party.
The Dems dumped Leiberman because his morality and integrity were at odds with the New Democrats.
Freeper PhiKapMom knows him.
She is not impressed.
Let's not start making a list of things you don't see......I don't have all night.
The cure for not seeing is putting a little more effort in to "looking" and "reading".
In the case of Gerry Studds and his page the Democrats were for man-boy consensual sex.
It blew up in their faces!!!! LOL!
Since when do Republican's ignore the law?
The LA Times fails to surprise with this:
The current and former congressional staffers interviewed by The Times, who are from both parties, said it was well known within the Capitol's gay community that Foley was interested in young men.
"Among the gay political community, there was a pretty wide understanding that he had an eye for the interns and the younger staff," said one former congressional staffer.
The staffers said Foley who was elected to the House in 1994 and is not openly gay would seek out the young men in bars, restaurants and even around the Capitol.
I guess the "big deal" is b/c ABC apparently tagged the really graphic IM as occurring before the page was 18, when it occurred after he was 18.
IOW, "all" that this goes to is whether ABC told the truth/got it right about when a particular IM it published occurred.
Sounds like something I'd read on DU!
The Republicans got caught looking in the other direction and are having to play catch up. However, in Washington and the media if you ignore something long enough a new story will take its place.
Cool it, Norm. You and I both know the kid was under 18 duing some of the IMs. You admitted it in another post. Making fun of me is not going to change the facts.
I get so frustrated watching him fire missiles and when someone tries to address them, he changes the subject. UHG! Then again, Sean does that, too, sometimes. This is why I rarely watch H&C any longer. My stress level goes through the roof when everybody starts talking over eachother.
How about some replay commentary for those of us not in front of the TV?
He sure as Heck will.
Actually, there seem to be two transcripts of two IM exchanges.
The lewd comments are in one, the discussion of the ex-page's upcoming 18th birthday and dinner date are in another. The dinner date arrangement
sounds more like the ex-page coming on to Foley than the other way around.
Maf54: I want to see you
Teen: Like I said not til feb
then we will go to dinner
Maf54: and then what happens
Teen: we eat
we drink
who knows
hang out
late into the night
Maf54: and
Teen: I dunno
Maf54: dunno what
Teen: hmmm I have the feeling that you are fishing here
im not sure what I would be comfortable with
well see
This selection is *not* in the lewd exchange posted both on ABC's site, and more usefully, since one doesn't have to follow links, on the Washington DC Craigslist site.
The questions this raises are the date of the lewd exchange, before or after the Feb 2003 18th birthday? and does the exchange posted above violates Foley's own anti-internet-solicitation-of-minors statute?
i, for one, didn't know that the guy replying to Foley's questions was 18 at the time, the implication has been that these "emails", (keeping in mind that there are people out there who are not interested in making a distinction between emails and IMs), were to young pages
"The DemonRats have(once again)OVERPLAYED their hand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The Pajamas people rock. When will the MSM learn?
Sometimes I cringe when remembering what life was like before the internet and alternative media came into being.
Remember Nixon's famous "silent majority" statement? He was so right. If he and Reagan could win and withstand the barrage of the MSM, then the American people aren't as dumb as the Lefties think they are.
Okay, someone please post what Ann Coulter said.
Hugh Hewitt is on it already-Rove not going to get much sleep tonight!
