Has anyone else seen this from today's NR On-line Corner? Fordham, the guy who claims he spoke out about Foley three years ago, said this when the case first broke: ******************************************************

"I HAD NO INKLING" [Byron York]

From an Associated Press account of an interview with Kirk Fordham:

In an extended interview in Washington Tuesday, Fordham described in detail helping Foley and his sister after they were confronted last Friday by ABC News with lurid instant messages Foley had apparently sent to teenage boys who were past congressional pages.

The longtime Capitol Hill staffer, his eyes red and speaking softly, said he tried to help Foley deal with questions about e-mails and private messages that exploded in the headlines late last week.

Fordham was Foley's former chief of staff but has not worked him since 2004. Last Friday, he said he went to Foley's house to help the lawmaker deal with the page scandal first reported by ABC News.

Fordham said when he learned the graphic sexual content of some of the instant messages, he confronted Foley.

"I said: ‘Are these authentic?' and he said ‘probably,' and he confirmed that they were likely his instant messages,” Fordham said.

Fordham said the immediate reaction of his current boss, Reynolds, was to get Foley to leave Congress.

"He told me (Foley) needed to resign,” said Fordham, adding that the National Republican Congressional Committee wrote the first draft of Foley's resignation letter before it was rewritten on Foley's official letterhead.

"I was still pretty shell shocked myself,” Fordham said of the day he learned about the messages. “This was someone I had worked for 10 years. I had no inkling that this kind of blatantly reckless - just obscene - behavior was going on behind our backs.”

How does the "I had no inkling" remark square with the Post's report that Fordham "says he implored the highest ranks of the GOP leadership to intervene to thwart behavior that he had been unable to stop after multiple confrontations with his boss"?

This boy/these kids...whichever. . .are not just 'innocent'. . .at least totally. . .

#####

This is the point that has been missed/ignored by so many as they focus on the nastiness of Foley's behavior. IMs are 2-way chat, not ugly spam, or heavy-breathing on an anonymous phone call. The 'boys' led him on for their amusement or in perverse way to encourage him to write things for which he could be blackmailed later.

You should be able to get more than just the single hit from the gay bar in Atlanta now. Articles about his appearances are starting to turn up. It does seem as if Tyson Vivyan was "wiped" from Google prior to his turning up on O'Reilly, doesn't it?

Dang, I can't even nest my quotes in Italians this early. My last post reads as though I was stealing your very witty riposte. Sorry, man, I was up too late last night, gloating.

Internet age of consent is 18
16 for Wash. DC, but this would be under the Internet age of consent.

So if you IM a naughty note to a 16 year old, thats a crime. If you cornhole him in a DC hotel, thats OK?

The Law is indeed an ASS.

I wish someone would do a DU Watch...

Don't you think a suicide watch would be more prudent? After all, we are compassionate conservatives.

Fordham is a homosexual

He had no problem bird dogging sexual fodder for YEARS!?

but NOW WHEN HE WAS FIRED (resigned) he is comming out?

Fordham is even MORE guilty because he knew and hid IT!!!

Homosexuals, based on this, should be purged as a politcal liability from all offices.

FORDHAM KNEW FOR YEARS AND DID NOT REPORT IT TO THE POLICE,

NRO is to be believed.

This does not change the fact that ABC Faked the story for dramatic advantage.

Does this deserve its own thread?

The real story is that homos shouldn't be allowed in positions where they can prey on their young charges.

$$$$$

My mind keeps going to the school in Manhattan named for the murdered homosexual San Francisco mayor Harvey Milk, for high school kids of 'alternative' sexuality.

I'm SURE that no teacher there would EVER have an inappropriate contact with an underage child. /s

too late the Harvy Milk school has ALREADY been rocked by multiple scandals of not only teachers with students but students running a prostitution service for homosexuals RIGHT OUT OF THE SCHOOL!

It is jut not covered because bad news about homosexuals is verbotten.

Fordham is a bitter queen who just bought himself a FBI investigation for aiding and abetting.

ABC is reprehensible for playing the "fake but accurate game"

What really depresses me is how the media leads the message on every "Republican" scandal, ignores obvious disasters-in-the-making like the Harvey Milk School, and so many apparently intelligent people get caught by the media spin every time.

If this is true, this changes everything (or at least it should).

The media should question the "invation of privacy" of two consenting adults. In fact, they should start defending Foley!

The vast "gay community" should come out in support of Foley. Since the Left thinks that's about 20% of the population, the politcal pressure on the Dims would be enormous.

But, wait...Foley is a Republican.

That law was not in effect in 2003.

So when FFF was sending those im's, it wasn't illegal.

This seems a good place to post my thought on the whole issue. Why did Foley, when he announced his gayness, say that he has carried his SHAME for years. Shame? He isn't suppose to be ashamed of being gay now days, is he? Oh well, with the kid being over 18, life is going to be good.

True but I think you need to look at issues that should transcend politics but aren't. Like the War on Terror.... You know what you get with the DEMS they will not listen to Al-Qaeda phone calls the ACLU have them by the balls. They will not detain combatants again ACLU. They will retreat on the WOT, out of Iraq, Out of the Phillipines, Out of Indonesia, Out of Afghanistan, Out of Israel, because of their Anti-War Base. They will raise taxes, They will ruin the economy, they will give your and my tax dollars to support the new illegal Mexican voting block that will ensure them continued future victories at the polls. Before you start slamming Bush for being somewhat like Clinton. Think how different they are on the most important issues of the day i.e., ACTION vs. INACTION (Blame, Blame, Blame,) Makes me sick.
