Aide Says He Reported Foley 2 Years Ago
Yahooooo News ^ | 10/4/06

WASHINGTON - A senior congressional aide said Wednesday that he alerted House Speaker Dennis Hastert's office two years ago about worrisome conduct by former Rep. Mark Foley with teenage pages.

Kirk Fordham told The Associated Press that when he was told about Foley's inappropriate behavior toward pages, he had "more than one conversation with senior staff at the highest level of the House of Representatives asking them to intervene."

The conversations took place long before the e-mail scandal broke, Fordham said, and at least a year earlier than members of the House GOP leadership have acknowledged.

Amen. For days you have heard " this is not about being gay" from all sorts of people. That is completely wrong.
It is deviant. It is also deviant to prefer underage "partners". If you simply stay with the basics, it is impossible not to admit that homosexuality is a disorder. I do not care how much you shout and yell and call me names, that does not change the facts.

Sorry, I do not in any way believe Hassert knew more than he has admitted what he knew. There is no way on God's green earth that Hassert would have allowed Foley to remain in Congress, if he knew about the sexual issues. We did not need Foley 2 years ago to keep our majority, nor do we need him now!

Passionate America just named the person Foley IM'd

I don't feel comfortable giving out the guys name but he is 21 years old. He graduated from the page program in 2002 and is currently working as Deputy Campaign Manager for Ernest Istook in Oklahoma City.

This is pretty sad. I'm sure that this is not the only young man Foley was engaged with, but, through shotty, garbage reporting by "reporters" like Brian Ross, a lot of lives are going to be ruined, such as that kid named on the Passionate America blog.

This is not going to be good for anyone.

More rumor mongering. There is an awful lot of that going on today.

Yes, sir--thank you. Our society has basically decided to avoid talking about "gay" in terms that are real. The very acts that are involved for both males and females are by definition unnatural. To think one can be normal in every other way is assinine. It is always a problem in the workplace unless they keep this proclivity to themselves--which is what they should do because while it's no one's business, when it's advertised, it's disgusting to most people. This impacts the workplace. Like you, I don't care what many try to say, it does not fit in the schools or the workplace.

"If true"?

BS, it's becoming more and more clear that this guy was the source of it all, he is trying to deflect and I refuse to even address his allegations.

You ask some good questions, and I think you deserve the answers. Perhaps we might learn a lot more if the FBI and other investigative agencies looked into the activities of Fordham. From the two conflicting stories that have been published, it seems imperative that he be questioned thoroughly! I know nothing about IMs, but could he have possibly known Foley's account name and sent some of the messages?

From the ABC story:

But Fordham — a former chief of staff to Foley, who resigned as chief of staff to another member of the GOP leadership, Rep. Tom Reynolds, R-N.Y. — said that as far back as 2003, Hastert chief of staff Scott Palmer had been told that Foley was too friendly with pages. According to Fordham, Palmer spoke to Foley about the matter…

So, it's either true or not. Scott Palmer, the chief of staff knows the truth here. Either Fordham told him back in 2003 about Foley and the pages or he didn't. Fordham is also alleging that Palmer spoke to Foley in 2003 about it. That either happened or didn't. It could be possible that Palmer kept it away from Hastert, which would mean everybody is telling the truth here.

Then your friend was ripped off. All you have to do is check the box in the IM program that enables logging.

Sometimes I think we are all talking about something different. IM services differ.

I got through to the site earlier. There really isn't much to it except for FBI to investigate. Most of the story deals with how sloppy posting at ABC allowed the blogger to find out the persons IM name.

I really don't see the point of naming the person or plastering his picture all over the net. I feel bad for this young man and hope no harm come to him.

Fordham lost his job today. Now, he's blabbing to the press. I'll look for a more credible source, thanks.

I finally was able to read it. Somehow I missed the part about the FBI investigating. Says he's putting up more to the story later. Personally, I don't see the need at all to put this guy's name out there at this point.

My friend said she had to spend $200.00 and have a computer geek to install something that would keep her step-daughters IM'S....otherwise they go to ETHER....they are NOT kept, so SOMEONE either KEPT these or CREATED these!!!

Bingo!

Either (1) the page activated IM logging himself, knowing exactly what was going on and having ambitions of growing up to be an ace 'Rat operative or (2) the logs were fabricated using a text editor in order to capitalize on the revealed emails. My vote would be (1), because I don't think Foley would have resigned if the logs were forged.

Wouldn't Scott Palmer be that source? He can confirm or deny. I will take his word on it.
