WASHINGTON - A senior congressional aide said Wednesday that he alerted House Speaker Dennis Hastert's office two years ago about worrisome conduct by former Rep. Mark Foley with teenage pages.
Kirk Fordham told The Associated Press that when he was told about Foley's inappropriate behavior toward pages, he had "more than one conversation with senior staff at the highest level of the House of Representatives asking them to intervene."
The conversations took place long before the e-mail scandal broke, Fordham said, and at least a year earlier than members of the House GOP leadership have acknowledged.
Book deal going on now!!
Oh what a tangled web we weave!
DON'T BELIEVE IT!!! Fordham is gay and working with the Dems!!
You betcha he is!
If true, Hastert is done. Plain and simple. If Hastert's office was told 1 year before hand that the pages were getting creeped out, did nothing, then was told 11 months ago, that Foley was still creeping out the pages with his email and did nothing, Hastert deserves to go. This changes the story alot. Again, if this is true.
I'm having a hard time buying this guy's line. Didn't this Roger's guy threaten Fordham also?
"He [FORDHAM] begged them not to tell the page board," said one of the Republican sources.
Fordham is gay, and was Foley's chief of staff for 10 years. Then went to work for Tom Reynolds the head of the congressional campaign committee. If he is working for the democrats, whose fault is that exactly?
This actually is potentially the worst thing out there. Period. 2 years ago there were warnings and nothing was done. That is inexcusable again if true.
Boy oh boy, just as soon as they began to sense that their first ploy to get Hastert wasn't working very well, they pull this rabbit out of their hats. Watch for what organization Fordham lands a position with.
Pingeth.
Yawn, sour grapes by someone who I read on another thread on FR that Fordham is a source for the homosexual magazine "Advocate".
What exactly does he mean by "worrisome?"
Are we seeing the birth of another set of confusing word games, like emails versus IMs?
It may be a yawn now but this can screw us up in the elections if none of this stuff about him hits the MSM. The American public doesn't know about him only what they read in the MSM.
What's up with Drudge? He's got this story splashed across the headlines in red print. I think he's slowly going over to the dark side.
Me too-bump to save my spot.
Again you jump to wild conclusions, relying on the liberal MSM.
BTW, doggie do you work for the "Advocate" as Fordham apparently does.
