Report: Oil discovered in Dead Sea area
Jerusalem Post ^ | Oct. 4, 2006 | JPost.com staff

Oil has been discovered in the Dead Sea area, Dr. Eli Tenenbaum, an official from Genco, the national company responsible for drilling in the region, reported on Wednesday. Tenenbaum stated that the amount of oil could reach commercial levels.

"We noticed that the pressure in the area was very high and when we opened the tap, oil started flowing freely for several minutes," Tenenbaum told Channel 10.

Tenenbaum said that the workers washed their hands with the "black gold" when they made the discovery. "We hope it was the first of many [such discoveries]," he added excitedly.

Not far from the drilling site, the crew spotted an oil reserve that Tenenbaum described as "very attractive," which they believed contained between four and six million barrels, worth an estimated 300 million dollars.

The operation began 10 years ago but was put on hold since it was not deemed economically viable. However, due to the recent soaring oil prices the discovery of new oil sources became necessary.

Genco was drilling at a depth of 2000 meters.

Infrastructure Minister Binyamin Ben Eliezer said it was "just the beginning" and that is was vital to find out whether the oil field was commercially viable or not.

"It is an encouraging sign," he said. "We are checking the entire area and we are opening the whole region for drilling. We will give our full support to any company that wants to try."

Essentially, Rosenberg predicted the fall of Saddam a couple of years before it actually happened. Got it really close as far as events too. Really spooky. Hannity had him on a time or two I believe. At the beginning of the book, oil is discovered in Israel.

Oil in the Holy Land by Hal Lindsey (2/26/04)

"As I look at Bible prophecy, I know certain things. First, Israel will survive as a nation. Second, in the tribulation period that immediately precedes the Second Coming of Jesus, they will have enormous wealth. According to prophet Ezekiel, this wealth will be so great that it attracts a desperate attack by Russia and the Muslim Confederacy. This attack will actually be the first battle of the war of Armageddon."

While pretty much every nation on earth has one thing, but not another, Israel always seems to have everything, any resource, any technology advance, any discovery, it truly is amazing. It truly is the land of milk and honey.

The Bible says something about great riches being found in the later days around the dead sea. It was something about Davids Crown? On a map, if you want to see it, there's the profile of a man wearing a crown around the area of the dead sea. I saw it once on a Christian show. I don't remember if the map was a current map or an ancient map.
Does this ring a bell for anyone? I ran a quick search but didn't see anything on it.

From time to time, people post here on FR articles about some company searching for oil using Biblical/Talmudic clues.

Reading over the posts in this thread, it seems the consensus is that Israel never discovered oil in their land before. I thought Israel already had some oil wells going, nothing huge of course, but still, oil had been discovered in Israel before.

Hadn't it?

BTTT - wouldn't it be ironic if Israel ended up with more oil than the Arabs?

According to the show I saw on TV about the "great riches" found under "Davids Crown", (Man, I wish had could find a link for this) The area is HUGE.
