Attorney: Foley Was Molested as a Teen by a Clergyman
WASHINGTON Former Rep. Mark Foley was molested between the ages 13 and 15 by a clergyman, his attorney Mark Roth told reporters late Tuesday.
Foley also wants Americans to know that he is a gay man but he never had sexual contact with a minor, Roth said. Foley was admitted on Saturday night to a mental health facility, where he will remain for at least 30 days.
Roth said Foley wanted to release the name and religious affiliation where his alleged molestation occurred, but was advised by civil counsel to delay naming names at this time. However, details of the clergyman, the timeframe and the situation will be released when counsel advises Foley to do so.
It has nothing to do with a crime?
Well for goodness sake dems, get Fitzmas before this pot boiler cools down,he'll find one and an indictment too.
Thanks.
So what!
Maybe, but absent this it will be something else just as sick.
They've been practically lynching Steele because he's a black Republican. Stealing his records. Throwing oreos. Coloring his face.
They've already accused Allen of sticking bloody deer heads in the mailboxes of blacks.
Now they apparently let a pedophile sit in office so they could spring this in October.
What's next?
I firmly believe that there are FAR more sex predators in public schools than in all the churches across America (even WITH the Lavendar Mafia!) but the mainstream media will never focus on that!
Ed
It's the sexual content of the talk that was criminalized, not the act of talking. I'm sure you would know that so I'm confused as to your point. I wish someone who is an expert on the law Foley helped get passed would weigh in on this.
Isn't it common for gay people to have been molested as children?
As my old granny used to say, "Is a pig's ass pork??"
Oh, and by the way, I'm gay, too..."
Notice how they slipped that in at the end?
Guess it'll be political dirty tricks next -- after all, that seems to be the only thing he hasn't claimed as an excuse for being a moron...
This does shriek of desperation, doesn't it?
And yet doesn't it also practically define the gay history for many?
1. Sexually abused as a minor.
2. Fights to be "normal" but gets recruited into the gay lifestyle.
3. Finds acceptance for his gayness and is told it's not his fault.
4. Eventually recruits new minors, perpetuating the cycle for a new generation.
Foley is far from the first one I've seen live this cycle. What is shocking is that the liberals WANT this to become "normal" rather than calling it the abuse that it really is. And when you see men gunning down classrooms as an outlet for their misplaced sexual rage, it all ties together.
The libs want to separate homosexuality and pedophilia the way they try to separate Iraq from the War on Terror but the links between the two show up over and over again no matter how hard the liberals want to deny it.
He admits he's gay so they put him in a mental health facility. Let's run with story.
I'm not completely up on all the info in this matter. Did all of this happen in DC? Cuz I heard on the radio yesterday that the legal age of consent in DC is 16. If so, I don't see what all the ruckus is about....except the gay thing. That's disgustin'.
And he apparently liked it, since he then took up the "gay lifestyle".
That might be an excuse to use in a court of law .. but it makes no excuse for those IM's
Jim McGreevy, Barney Frank, Mark Foley; it seems that homosexuals and leadership are a bad combination.
I never did understand that one. It makes me lower my opinion of him even more. Knowing 1st hand how awful it was to be molested as a kid should have precluded him from ever wanted to do that to a child. Scum...
Next week he will announce that he is bipolar.
Ha, ha great minds think alike.
I think the law Foley helped pass was during the last year. That is long past the reported date of all of these messages (both the emails and the IMs). In America, criminal laws cannot be retroactive. Not defending him - simply citing a legal point.
I also heard on a report on the radio this afternoon that Foley "isn't ready to reveal the name of the clergyman".
Sounds like doublespeek for "I have to find a skapegoat to blame it on - but it has to be believeable which may take a while"...
Then again, I have a problem believing what a homosexual who has been living a lie and pursuing young pageboys in illicity and ugly messages (not that I condone such behavior by straight people in power either).
And for the Republican party to stand by knowing there was a practicing homosexual (and possibly a predator) is beyond belief. The Republican party claims to be the party of "family values" - I'm sure the parents of those pages affected would disagree - even IF this is an isolated case.
I will defend ableLight. He participated in a number of the Jon Benet Ramsey threads. I do not believe him to be a troll of any kind.
