New Foley Instant Messages; Had Internet Sex While Awaiting House Vote October 03, 2006 1:22 PM
Brian Ross and Maddy Sauer Report:
Former Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL) interrupted a vote on the floor of the House in 2003 to engage in Internet sex with a high school student who had served as a congressional page, according to new Internet instant messages provided to ABC News by former pages.
ABC News now has obtained 52 separate instant message exchanges, which former pages say were sent by Foley, using the screen name Maf54, to two different boys under the age of 18.
This message was dated April 2003, at approximately 7 p.m., according to the message time stamp.

so what should have happened? the emails are revealed, they talk to Foley and tell him to stop, and then what? does Hastert get wiretap orders for Foley's phone and PC? does Hastert use the FBI to tail Foley? be specific.
its easy to say with 20/20 hindsight this should have been done, knowing what we know now. but unless we change our system into "guilty until proven innocent", it was never going to happen.

I have messages from earlier than that. Bet I'm not the only one.
Tom is a "friend" on all myspace accounts.
Oceanview, I HAVE been specific over and over.
See post 394.
You people just don't want to listen and keep pushing these crazy theories about wiretaps.
How do we know?
Proof? Source??
Yeah. I know. Get it?
Actually I deleted him on mine a long time ago. I wasn't gonna be 'friends' with one of Foley's boyfriends!
You have a myspace account?
"I have looked since this weekend...guess he wont be coming back, the perv."
It wasn't info I saved, but if I run into it again I'll post to you.
Foley is in hiding. That's another thing that makes me angry at him. Everyone else and their dog is taking the hits for HIS behavior.
Maybe if he'd made himself available to authorities to answer some of these questions that we're trying to second-guess we'd get to the bottom of this mess more quickly. He could at least confirm or deny the authenticity of the material that's been reported thus far. Nooo.....he goes to the cocoon of 'rehab'.
The myspace page for Mark in Palm Beach is affiliated with maf54@aol.com
They all go into "rehab" to avoid the fallout!
I didnt see that on the page.
It was sarcasm. You must not know anything about myspace.
"The difference is that Democrats never claimed to be 'moral' or 'upstanding' or supporters of 'family values'."
---
Sure they do. The media was more than willing to present Clinton as a loving family man...as he carried his Bible with him, in and out of Church every Sunday. Even when Clinton was caught, he and the media made a big deal about how he was getting spiritual counseling from none other than Jesse Jackson.
Heck, the Democrats have hired religious advisors so they can specifically appeal to the moral majority...which is one of the reasons Lieberman was even considered a VP candidate in 2000. Their hypocrisy is even more outrageous since many of them pretend to be moral when they aren't.
"The republicans live and die by this stuff. Can't impeach Clinton for a BJ, then turn around and ignore GOP congressmen diddling little boys, now can we?"
----
No one is ignoring Foley. On the contrary, unlike CLinton who denied any wrong doing, Foley has already stepped down and been thoroughly flogged by most Republicans. Unlike Democrats who circle the wagons to defend the indefensible, Republicans do just the opposite...often to their own detriment, before all the facts are even known. Your logic doesn't hold up.
